To obtain your job, you have to complete a quest that takes you down into the castles basement.  Unfortunately the quest is not working, so here's what it look like.

I kinda miss good'ol fashion healing.

I come from a long line of healers.

Redmage and Whitemage in Final Fantasy XI.

Shaman, Druid and Priest in WoW.

No matter how hard I try play another role, I always come back to the healer position.  Same thing with Age of Conan.  I tried a couple dps classes, couldn't really get into it so I went back and started up a Priest of Mitra.

During the grind I solo'd my way to 80, with an occasional group along the way.  I gotta say I was in love with those HoT's at the time, but as I spent more time at 80 and in groups I started to miss having some real heals.

It is kinda nice not staring at health bars all the time, I toss a couple HoT's up and every couple seconds I get to use Lance of Mitra for some extra healin, I love Lance of Mitra^^, and if something happens to go wrong, I've got Radiance.

Even with all that though, I still feel somewhat disconnected from healing.  I guess im too used to the old ways of healing, I would prefer to have more direct heals over heals over time.

I dunno.

Anyway, Kylikki's Crypt raid in an hour...wonder if I should go.

A quick look back at how things came to be.

MMORPG's good stuff huh?

I remember the first MMO I really got into, Final Fantasy XI.

A buddy and I decided to pick this game up and give it a try.  He wanted to be a Summoner and I wanted to be a Dragoon; his starting job was a Warrior and my starting job was a Red Mage.  Go figure.  I immediately fell in love with the game and quickly outleveled my friend.

I had some of my best times in XI, mainly grinding in groups.  I made three really good friends in XI: Aenn, Keaoi and Detsero. We decided to form a perma and always had a good time taking on goblins and such together.  It was too bad though...we formed two permas during our XI run and each time we broke around level 50, because of me.  I was never happy with the job I had chosen, and thought I'd have more fun trying another job.  We all eventually got a few jobs to 75 though, so its all good.  Aside from the grinding we helped each other out with missions and quests, camping NMs, and just chatting. Aenn, Keaoi and Detsero went on to join raiding linkshells, but I never did.  I kinda feel like I missed out, but I still had such a good time with XI.  This was the first game that gave me that, "I gotta get home and play this game!" feeling.

Along came World of Warcraft.

I had no idea what this game was at the time, but Aenn and Keaoi wouldnt stop talking about it.

"They've got PvP in this game!"

"The game looks so much better than XI man."

"You can jump in this game!"

Aenn and Keaoi left for WoW, while Detsero and I stayed with XI.  Obviously, things weren't the same...  Eventually we came over to WoW.  What can I say about WoW...it was a fun game for sure.  I was actually able to solo things!  I just never did much with my friends; most of my time was spent leveling a few classes to 70, while Aenn and Keaoi spent their time raiding.  Again I missed endgame raiding.  I did make a new friend though, Shadecurse the Warlock.

I don't know which one of us brought up Age of Conan, but once everyone took a look, Age of Conan was all we talked about.

Age of Conan was gonna be the game that brought us together again!

We were gonna do everything together like the old days!

Detsero and I preordered and were given early access, Aenn and Keaoi had preordered too late and missed out on the early access opportunity.  Unfortunately none of us ever really leveled together on our way to level 80. Aenn, Shade and Keaoi did level alittle together but not for very long.  I've been level 80 for a few weeks now, just waiting for them to catch up so that we can try to get some good times going in this game.

Heh, its kinda late and I didnt go into much detail at all.

Just hoping AoC will pick-up and be what my friends and I hope we thought it would be. :D

Btw...I never leveled Dragoon to 75 ; ;
