did you check the box during payment where entering your CC info of $5 for early access. it could have been missed.

omg this is so lame. i preordered yesterday in order to get early access. doesnt look like im going to get it now. gotta cancel my preorder so that i can actually go pick it up on the 20th (i ordered online so it will ship on the 20th)

No I never got to confirm, as I said something came up and I had to wait till this morning, now the early access option is gone off my sub page.

same here could have done it this morning but was to lazy wanted to do it now and option is gone hehe bad luck for me but saves me on the download now just hoping that my CE gets here in time

I'm annoyed about this situation. I did not get invited to the beta, so I was waiting for some feedback from the community on how certain parts of the game work. Having read a lot of information, I felt AoC was worth a try and pre-ordered last night.

I got in late last night, and registered my pre-order code this morning, assuming that it would be fine since the downloading was supposed to START being available today. I had no idea that they would cut off the number of people who could join the early start would be cut off on the very day the download started... they should have at least waited until the day before the early start would happen.

There were still a TON of pre-order boxes available at the Best Buy I went to, so anyone else who pre-orders now will not have the opportunity to join the early launch - and I guarrantee no sticker will be placed on the boxes or websites to the contrary.

Strike one against AoC and Funcom.

Verbiage from Gamestop's website:

3-Day Early Access Program

With your pre-order of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, you will be able to participate in the 3-day Early Access Program. Early access period starts on May 17, 3 days before the commercial release on May 20, 2008. You may begin downloading the game client files and installing as early as May 14. With early access, there is a nominal fee of $5 payable online when you download the client, which covers the cost of the download and includes 10 days of additional game time.

I see NO mention of any limit on the number of people who can download the client and join the early release. In fact, it clearly says, "If you pre-order, you WILL be able to participate....".

I'm glad they went through this action, to at least be consistent going forward. However, it doesn't help anyone who had already ordered a pre-order but hadn't been able to activate yet.

Well the Funcom Forums are litterally on fire because of this.   There are a lot of pissd off gamers ovr there and Funcom is not goingto come out of this unscathed if they don't fix this and fix it soon.  It is getting nasty....really nasty.

well guess i did good by activating my early access yesterday and i was thinking about deleying it too. i would of been pissed hehe well anyways see all my early access folk saturday!!

 I dunno if you guys are watching that thread over there...but you cannot stay up with the number of post because a new page is added like every 2 seconds to the thread!  Amazing.   Never have I seen a forum explode like the AoC one is doing today.   LOL!   Funcom stepped into this pile upto their necks right out of the gate.
