Jesus is the Sun of God

well quad core is better but expensive and duo core is great and it is relatively cheap so if you don't have the money get duo core.

The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp.

I think there are people who are of both camps. If the multi-CPU support goes in, and the processors are of equal speeds, generally you can assume the quad. That said, a good CPU can be stunted by motherboard, cooling unit, etc. as well some processors versions having an edge in performance of others of similar speeds.

what i have seen on my dualcore in beta is that client is using about 1.5 cpu cores of my dualcore, which means one core is fully used the other only partially. so i guess that a quad won't add much performance over a dual, and for duals you can get higher clockspeed cheaper so i personalyl would go dual.

I would say Quad core because you will keep it a very long time , all the games in the future will make use of the quad core.

As for AOC I think right now that it only use 2 cores , but I'm not sure someone will tell u maybe.

Dont get a Quad, get a Duo. The day games will use 4x core, there will be a lot better Quad Q's on the market, i would say get a good DUO now instead.

An Intel one - AMD are stuck with the Athlon 64 x2 6400 (3.2Ghz) 90nm which runs damn hot and slower than a E6600 with a moderate overclock.

thats especially true for MMOs where all AI calculations are done on servers (if there is any AI at all, some mobs in some games make me think about that sometimes). For strategy games and other games that rely on good ai routines i think you will see games faster that utilise Quad.

INTEL E8400 will out perform the Q6600 in gaming all the way. $200, so roughly $50 cheaper.
