F2P MMORPGs made me go back to P2P MMORPGs.

BEWARE!!! Perfect World is another MMORPG with territory wars. I think any game with territory wars, ruins the game for any newbies looking to get to high levels. Here's some reference posts from PerfectWorld.CC with the issue.

TOPIC - which of the two server will i choose?
Posted by "drew018":

oracle or delphi? how will i know if my patch is english server?

Quoted and Replied by "XKwisite":
Oracle=Server with several strong guilds,less PK(will change soon),cheaper market.

Delphi=1 guild to rule them all,TW is over.Immortal controls the other 2 guilds with land(espada, and legacy),Lots of random PK,highly inflated market.

Further replied by "Lord Devil":
Wow, yeah last time I logged in I saw Immortal taking over every piece of land soon... ! Crazy things are going on in laggy PW-MY

Again from "XKwisite":
I actually find it kind of humorous, since i was helping intensity try to stop them and we tried to warn the server that this was going to happen. But of course they wouldn't believe it and instead prefered to think that we were just trying to capture all the territory for ourselves. Now within the next 2 weeks all lands will be owned by immortal, legacy, and espada. Oh and then within the next 2months espada will be wiped from the map since immortal has declared war on them. Which makes this even more funny since i told enforcer that this would happen and he didn't believe me. Now the server is out of control. Immortal has posted guards at all of the AOE spots, nobody but them and legacy can level and their PKing everyone in sight. Not to mention immortal now owns all of the eye's of forest which they bugged to get, then when forest run was removed because of them they got to keep them. Now they own all of them except for kins. To make this even better all of the little guilds sanctuary,inf3rnals,sphere,nightmare,divine,and RU are grouping together to take down immortal which is completely hopeless seeing as intensity was much stronger then this new alliance will ever be and still failed.

In conclusion the ignorance of mankind amuses me
END TOPIC - (actually is followed by a couple of negative replies, but all the players know this and thus did not bother to say otherwise)

Here's the original post from the PW site for international english users, pertaining to the subject: http://pw-forum.onlinewelten.com/yaf_postst4256_which-of-the-two-server-will-i-choose.aspx

P.S. - Just look at the dates on the posts and look at the high number of members. A lot of ppl have quit this game already due to the TW (Territory Wars) issue.

So...don't join server DELPHI if you ever decide to play.

Kill it Quick ~ Kill it Dead...

So...don't join server DELPHI if you ever decide to play.

P.S. - Just look at the dates on the posts and look at the high number of members. A lot of ppl have quit this game already due to the TW (Territory Wars) issue.

I am on the Delphi Server and I am the GM of a guild called Fearless.  We recently split out into 3 guilds Fearless(solid white star) (High - Mid Level), Fearless(outline of white star) (Mid-Level) and Fearless (Mid-Low Level where we recruit - train - and move members up to the higher part of our guild as they level. (This way they have levels within their same level to quest / level with).

Now the PK thing - yes, there are some PKers from these guilds, on the land but its impossible to PK people at the teleporters since they are in safe zones.

But PK'ing is everywhere and the PKers - if they PK someone much lower than them turn red - and if killed will drop something (armor / weapon).

They are also red for two hours, and if they pass by a guard are promptly killed, where I believe they again stand a chance of losing something.

Espada - I started around March and have not see many around - except for Saturdays (TW day).  I see alot other guilds but most of the top land owners - wow.. rarely.

These land owners - are no longer monopolies - they ARE losing their land because they are being attacked every weekend - on three fronts but with one guild - well how can they protect three at once?

I do not think TW is a bad thing since it  is 'instanced' it is not like other players can be involved since you have to actually pay for the war / or be the defender and warp TO the war.

Pking - well the game is what it is.  You are not PK-able until level 30 (your name turns from blue to white) and by then you have an opportunity to make friends, join a guild and have a good idea who the server PK'ers are ... and avoid them or figure out why they are killing you.

Have I PK'ed  - Yes.  When???

1.  When someone is taking hits on my monster - whining they cannot kill it alone - and refuse to 'go away'.  I prefer to solo.  If you are questing - you need that final blow to get the item.  THEY want that final blow. 1 warning and then I pk them.

2.  When someone is spamming the airwaves - I most certainly will hunt them down and PK them just for being stupid and annoying. 1 warning before I track them down or put them on a KOS list. These are the idiots that like to spam characters or stupid junk.

3.  When someone follows me around, asking for $$$ or things and whining that I am being MEAN by not giving them to them.  1 warning and then I pk them.

4.  When someone in my guild is PK'ed - did not start it - and the person was well over their level.  Yes, I will help them exact revenge.

TW - well it has its place.  It is for commerce mainly. If you win a TW you get $$$ for holding the land.

PK - it helps when players annoy the heck out of you, ks you and just ... drive you buggy.

Thankies

Deb.

why do today, that which you can put off till tomorrow

Never heard of Fearless - tho i did quit a few weeks back - maybe you formed from some of the 'involved' guilds? - or not - eitherway, it makes little sense to split up into 3 guilds unless your main has filled 200 members after reaching level3. staying as one guild makes it easier to get in on FBs, and getting help to your lowbies for bosses

It used to be Delphi had all the interesting politicking back during the (northern hemishere) winter, and Oracle was the static server in terms of power and dominating guilds

basically i quit due to the tedium of the grind, and when my guild's land finally got swallowed up by ImmortaL, there was nothing to stick around for...

i used to really enjoy the weekly battles against... Nightmare or Devine or Inf3rnales or Futureal or one of the other 'involved' clans.... and NEVER lost a single TW until ImmortaL (you should be able to guess which clan i was in if you were an 'involved' since only one guild fought all these)

also there seemed to be a GM bias toward ImmortaL, leading to many speculating quite openly on the official servers that Cubizone staff were members of ImmortaL (never denied)...

but basically the problem has arisen because many players have come to a new server with vast experience from MY-CN servers or the CN servers knowing all the exploits and game mechanics and sought to control the server.

account sharing + past experience has enabled higher level attainment, and botting has provided income for XP scrolls / heiros / dolls etc to supplement the TW income. since those doing the botting are often the guildmates and freinds, and perhaps cubizones staff themselves - it has gone on pretty much unchecked leading to massive inflation and economy-ruining inequitous wealth distribution

when Shades, Memoire and UnitedRU first merged to form Intensity (now [H]elios) - arrogant little twats randomly ganking lowbies then crying in WC with their drama-trumpets when they got PKd quickly alienated Intensity from all the other guilds... thats why none of the other guilds supported Intensity - had Lelouchi and Khalystah controlled the halfwits giving their guild a bad rep things may have turned out differently

not that it matters - i'm long gone and so are most of my freinds

PS - seems oracle is just as bad

Reality is the popular perception. Imagination is creation.

Territory wars are of no concern until you are high enough a lvl that you can choose whether or not you want to participate in it.

This person seems to be searching for things to complain about.  I'm having lots of fun doing my own thing.  AoC flamer sent here?  Possibly...

First point - tedium of the grind.   - Wow, this MMO out of all that I've played, and I've tried them all... Have this thing called "a grind" it's what gives xp, and believe it or not PW has the most quests, that's not made up, but a fact, so the grind is less than any other out there.  ... MMO's are not for this fellow.

Second point, about "Immortals" ... Big deal lol.

All I have to say is when the going gets tough, and you face a challenge, some people stay and some people tuck tail and run.  I'm not "scared" of any guild when I play lol.  It actually gives me incentive to lvl higher.  Funny attitude.

Care to elaborate on that statement?

We should respect bacteria, it's all the culture some people have apparently.

ah the naivety

many people want to be involved with TWs, but poor design means very few will experience them (unless they are satisfied with throwing away hard-earned in-game gold to be slaughtered within a couple of minutes)... Cubizone have repeatedly stated that they are not allowed (under terms of the license) to alter the game files to make this feature more accessible - for the short and medium-term TW is as good as dead

since you are new to these forums, and new to PW - and quite probably new to MMOs in general i shall explain 'grind' to you.

All level-based games require attainment of xp (experience points) in order to attain the next level. Typically this is done by the completion of quests and killing of monsters (mobs). In some respect ALL can be considered a 'grind'. However, there are quantitative and qualitative differences to the 'grind', some can be mathematically measured, others are based on subjective experienced (they are independent measures, yet the former can influence the latter)

PW has a very low quantitaive and qualitative grind scores initially, questing (including daily quests) providing most of the XP required to level, and little requirement to 'farm' XP.

After you have attained level 60 or 70 the XP farming requisite causes both measures of grind to increase steeply. So now questing and daily quests (both (by now) Rosalind and world-quest (WQ) provide only a small % to the next level, requiring 80+% of the XP needing to be found by farming. As you move through the 7X levels, a solo player cherry-picking mobs for XP and grinding as hard-and fast as they can will make LESS than 1% of a level in an hour.

Therefore players need t
