Have Smed canned & Petition Kaz today for me to run SOE!

Since the day CU was implemented I have watched the numbers of players drop phenominally.  Every time I log back into the game the numbers there were there previously have dropped by at least %10.  This is over a couple of years.  You see, Ahazi was one of the more active servers years ago.  Now, its quite literally a ghost server.  Thinking about asking TAPS to do an episode of Ghost Hunters in Star Wars Galaxies.

Even when you get those curious numbers that show up with each major update; they eventually leave again after a couple of weeks, if that.

A majority of the servers will be vacant.  SOE is well aware of this fact.  Why do you think they run this game with a skeleton crew?  Why hire a huge staff?  They know this game is a wreck and no matter how many times they try to fix it they will keep loosing more and more subscriptions.

Originally the game could handle loosing one or two players here and there.  Not now, not when a large % of each individual subscriber makes up a large portion of the games population with their half dozen accounts.

The games end is coming and no matter how well they or anyone else sugar coats it; you can't hide the truth.  Just look at the statistics.  Its a virtual countdown to 0.

When the game started out in 2003 till CU, it was an alright game, simply because it was a big fat sand box.  You could do any profession and fit right into the networks and communities in the game.  Now...its just a sickening mess of people desperatly clawing for some type of entertainment.

What SOE needs to do is refund the fees of all the current subscribers and send out an apology by mail to everyone who subscribed and shut it down.  Be done with this joke once and for all.  The fact that they keep whipping this dead horse just adds to the anxiety and frustration of anyone who played or is playing the game.

Offended at your intelligent accessment of the game current condition?

No ,  I am delighted , the servers - Shut them down - Shut them all down.

Hey, I'm in no way suggesting sub numbers are healthy, and I never have. But 6-8K is such a ridiculously low number, you lose any and all credibility by continuing to parrot it.

If you look around the SWG forums, you'll see ALOT of people with more than one character in their sig with officer status from the activeframe site, there's also plenty with all 3 of their characters that are ranked, hell it's kind of silly to see one guy with all 3 of this chars at general, that's ALOT of grinding/pvp.

And let us not forget about the Trial Accounts either.  That is another factor of reducing the number of actively paying subscribers (and do not under-estimate their numbers either).

Generally though, the rule of thumb is to multiple by 5 (basically a 20%) of the concurrent users to know the ballpark of active subscribers.  Soooo, with say 14k users of one week (however calculated) would mean about 70k active subscribers at best case.

However, the initial numbers are from a week and not a daily snapshot, along with dilution of Station Pass holders and Trial Accounts.  The number of paying subscribers is going to be low from the looks of things.

I have a question, is there anyone who believes that SWG has more than 100,000 active subscribers? (Interesting isn't it, that we're now discussing numbers in the 50k average range?)

And that is why...

Conservatives' pessimism is conducive to their happiness in three ways. First, they are rarely surprised -- they are right more often than not about the course of events. Second, when they are wrong they are happy to be so. Third, because pessimistic conservatives put not their faith in princes -- government -- they accept that happiness is a function of fending for oneself. They believe that happiness is an activity -- it is inseparable from the pursuit of happiness.

I honestly don't believe this game has more than 10k players. I'm not exaggerating or trying to be dramatic but looking at every source available I just don't see more than 10k subscribers left.

You mean the foundation that SOE tried to copy and paste for the NGE? That foundation?

Well considering how bad the NGE is I don't blame you for hating it. Too bad SOE couldn't even steal WoW correctly...

No. I hate it because as i said, it is an insult to us all. And quite clearly it is what the masses are satisfied with, which is a shame. SOE did indeed copy elements of WoW into SWG (Heroics were copied very well, they are very popular in game). Fortunately, SOE didnt try to copy the elements of WoW that make it embarrassing; the graphics, gameplay etc. NGE was terrible - thank god we don't have it anymore.

Well since there are at least 9000 pvp'ers, you are quite clearly mistaken. Very very few pvp'ers have 2 chars both officers, most have an ent or a trader. And there are alot of RP'ers PvE'ers who arent officers. Look at the GCW source, theres no way you can justify less than 10k.

I personally think there are more than 10K players, but you are forgetting how many people, PvPers especially, being the most hardcore players, have multiple accounts.

Personally I feel subs are still between 50K-100K (but then, I am most generous in these areas, just to show how much more fair I am than the average SWG supporter).

Active players is another story. That's probably no more than 25K, again being generous.
