Funcom seems to be really scared out of their heels right now. The feedback they got from players is a hammer to the face. A very unforgiving hammer.

Vanguard was already a platform for failing MMO's and even then its actually improving alot on the matter. HGL was just screwed up.

At least Funcom seems to be coming clear with us in terms of the game right now unlike what Bill Roper did with the self denail crap. But i do agree with what most of the players say, is that most players aren't really giving up the  game yet. They are just too frustrated to continue due to major problems with it at the moment. Here that Funcom? your customers are giving you a second chance!!! Itsnot because of the instancing, combat machanics or gameplay. ITS THE BUGS AND INCOMPLETE CONTENT!!!

AOC can be great!!! The gameplay itself is already a gimmick on its own. Wheter Funcom comes through for us is another thing. Im pretty sure the game will pick up again like hot cakes in 2months to come.Hopefully.....

"A world which has to create its own justice is a world without hope."

This is what i've been reading a lot lately on various sites.  Not sure if it's true for everyone, but for me, i'm holding off on AoC until most of this unfinished and buggy content is fixed and improved.  If it's still got major problems after the first free month, i won't be subscribing.  I'll just stop playing MMOs until the next great thing comes out.  Rinse and Repeat until the next MMO comes out.

The problems with AoC are all about polishing the game and adding more content, the fundamentals are solid, they just didn't give it enough time to make time to clean their super sports car for any dirt here and there.

It's a shame they "ran out of cash" and that their stock had plummed with their delays, because if that hadn't been the case or they just had set it to 2008 in the beginning it wouldn't have been a big problem but right now it's luckily not even close to VG in terms of "at the edge".

That they are coming out with they are going to do a lot of things in the coming weeks is always nice, they seem to try fix bugs and add new stuff as fast they can but i guess it'll be all about doing at least some of it before the 30 day timer ticks down.

The game is great if you looked away from the polish problem, i find it interesting and different compared to others before it, so that's always a good thing. Now if they only summon one more of those miracle patches then all the bad mouthing will stop for at least a day or so hehe.

Several months probably. I refuse to level my main until they add more 50+ leveling content. I refuse to grind. I'm glad they addressed this in the letter today, but I'm gonna wait til the patch comes out.

in the meantime, I'll play some other classes and work on professions. When I get bored of that, I'm hitting the cancel button and come back later.

It took them 2 years to make Anarchy Online a compelling playable game, this launch is not quite that big a disaster. But they are slow to move and make many a poor decisions as they work out kinks.  Six months at the earliest, 9 would be a better guess in my opinion. Past experience tells me to sit this one out atleast that long, it an insanely frustrating process to watch them fumble threw fixes. (7 years in they still have any launch day bugs in AO)

It will do fine. The launch has been, for the most part, really good.

Vanguards was a huge mess, and it's definitely  not like this launch:

and there's quite a bit of positive feedback from the latest patch.
