I still can't understand how magic buffs are so much cooler than crafted buffs. Some docs where really good at them back in the day, if I had to pay an extra 2k for that great buff, I had no problem doing it.

I don't get it either.  Crafted buffs were great.  Docs that wanted to craft them could.  Docs that didn't could buy them.  To the end user, it made no difference, they still got their buffs.  The great thing about all of that is that everyone could do what they wanted to do.  There was no need to spend the time gathering resources and crafting the buffs yourself if you didn't want to.  Plenty of docs made buffs and sold them to other docs.

Reminds me of when I first saw docs doing a "VIP Buff" where you skip the line but pay two or three times as much.  I always waited in the lines rather than skip them because I enjoyed the crowds, the social aspect, I made some friends sitting in buff lines.  Good times.

Yeah great times seeing all the people. I remember one time some reb came into a line to get buffed from a Imp doc while he was tefed. He paid his 10K then they got into a heated argument about buffing while tefed and the doc wasn't gona do it, after a while the doc buffed him, then broke out a Jawa Ion cannon and killed him right there on the spot. Was the funniest thing I ever saw.

SWG is gone..Fallen Earth is eagerly awaited http://fallenearth.com

You guys just don't get it..

WoW has buffs..therefore SOE decided that SWG had to have them too.

I played up to the CU and the only "buff" i had was from food. One Time I had Doc buffs, because Amya put them on me as a friendly guesture. You didn't have to have them to go out and kill stuff or have fun..

Buffs were in game before WoW was released.

Anyway, you're correct, you didn't have to have doc/ent buffs to go out and have fun.  I could be wrong but I don't believe many here would claim otherwise.

I had an alt on Radiant (a carbineer/ranger) and I wandered the wilderness alot on my spare time, I was also in a guild that happened to be at war with 2 other guilds at the time, this was over 3 years ago. Radiant is still probably the capital server for guild wars, there's LOTS of that, and there was a guild there that recently moved to Bloodfin that had a very very high count of kills, 1 person in there had 45K kills when the next highest was about 28K (of all 25 servers) and this was a year ago! Radiant is a much smaller server than Chilastra is, yet the wars are massive and very often via guild wars more than actual GCW fights in Restuss or static bases.

If it's the guild I think you're talking about, they play on Chilastra now ;)

Wrath Squadron?

Yep, that's them :)  They're Imperial now too...I believe they were Rebel on their previous servers.

I rarely used buffs, and if I did it was usually food buffs for mobs that were stronger than me, and ent buffs for when I was doing some crafting.

Anyone who says you always needed DOC buffs for one on one PvP or PVE you would be wrong. I took out a BH who was attacking a guild mate of mine with nothing more than food. I also had a buff blow on me while tanking a NS on Dath with a LLC (I have SS for that one) :-P And I was ranged.

Well here's one person who agrees with me that doc/ent buffs weren't necessary.

Spelling and grammar do matter.

I find your lack of real-life skills disturbing.

And another. About the only times I bothered with doc buffs was hunting Avian on tough worlds, or getting into the battles at the Village.
