MMOs will never change if we, as gamers and consumers, continue to passively surrender our money to MMO companies that release half finished and broken products. If we don't do anything about it, it will never change.

Interestingly enough, the MMO industry is the only one where disgruntled customers get insulted by their fellow customers for wanting the advertised product.

People who sue are just in it for the money. It applies to every single situation. Get in a wreck? The person who caused it should pay only for the damage nothing more. Got fat off of eating at mcdonalds. The most mcdonalds should do is pay for your meal. Some of you might argue that it is a form of justice to make the other guy pay triple of the damage caused. I see no justice in making a huge profit because some guy messed up a tad. It is not a big deal that funcom did not deliver what was all promised. All that matters in a game is are you having fun playing it? If not then dont play it take it back to the store, get your refund, and be done with it. If you really want to make a big deal of it then it must be God's fault for allowing this company to false advertise. See it is just ridiculous so get over it.

You're right; we're just lazy I guess. However, legal action may not be the best course. For instance, I still say that everyone here would agree that boycotting Funcom is 1) easy to do, 2) free, 3) hurts Funcom's wallet, and 4) something everyone can do without knowing law. To those people who say "Man stop taking it so seriously, just get a refund and shut up"...it means you're accepting that the company did that to you.

Admittedly, a simple MMO video game may not be enough incentive to cause any kind of action other than returning that game and forgetting about it. That's fine, but if we can send a message to other companies that we won't take this kind of crap, it could make future MMOs better. Or it could not; the developers have to be smart enough to understand that fact...

Didn't Funcom basically make false advertisement to sell their game? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't false advertisement....well....illegal?

Yes, but people seem to not care as much because it's an MMO. And since MMOs can have patches, expansions, etc., they think it's okay. Whereas a single player game cannot be tweaked very easily after it's released, it has to have all the features promised or people will be outraged. The simple fact is this: If Funcom couldn't get DX10 in the game before launch, if they didn't test the keep sieges to see how many people could participate realistically, then they shouldn't have advertised those things on the box. I don't know why people are being so lenient.

To be honest taking legal action against Funcom would not be the way to go, for one the case would be hard to prove and expensive to implement.  There are however better and free ways to cause public embarrassment to Funcom.  A couple of years back a certain software developer released a product that was riddled with bugs and eventually a few of the people that bought the software complained about it to a TV consumer program, which led to the head of the development team having to answer some very searching questions in defence of his company on TV.  He didn't do very well and the company was shown up for what it was.

If you feel really strongly about AoC and what Funcom have pulled just register your complaints about it here http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/contact_index.shtml  no need for legal action but it's a certain kick in FC's nuts.
