Lineage II

I'm interested in starting again in L2, fresh on the phoenix server.  I was on franz before (I'm US).  Actually talked my gf into giving it a go.  

Im aware that on aug. 8th or whatever the leveling is going to get a lot easier, but is it going to hurt anything if we started today? Am I still going to get the same benefits pro-rated from the level we are?

Oh yeah, and just curious, how difficult is it to dual box on the same computer? Does it need to be an entirely different instance of L2 in a different directory or is it as easy as launching the .exe twice? (Running xp btw)

I wanted to also ask, She's going to go Prophet or EE I was thinking about going TH or Glad,  Thats a decent duo correct? And in pvp TH and glad can hold their own?

It won't hurt you to start now, the game is changing, not new people who sign up, so you'll still level fast once the changes come into play.

I 2boxed on a single computer, but that was way back in C2/C3 so I have no idea if you can still open the client twice, or you need 2 clients, or just 2x system folders or what.  but with a decent computer you can have your buffer on auto follow and just alt-tab for heals (even mid-battle its not too bad, as long as you don't pull aggro onto your 2boxed healer, that never ends well).

I'm done with L2, but I wish you good luck with it.

How about class to go with an EE or prophet? TH? Gladiator? HE? Just something fun that can hold its own in pvp 1v1 or more.

Prophet is a good partner for fighter classes and EE is a good partner for mystic (nuker) classes. It's not a bad idea to start now, but you may feel jipped that any gear you buy with your adena might be wasted compared to the upcoming patch. Since most of the changes to L2 are between 1-40, starting now might be counter productive. Also I'm sure the starting zones would be more fun and populative with the opening of Gracia.

TBH I dont exactly remember which part of the forums, but it was on the official forums.   I'll take it with a grain of salt but thats where I saw it.

I prefer TH for hunting actually :P Gladiator is more of a PvP character, while the slashing graphics are kind of hot :D I think that nothing will be changed, as i was recently informed if you start now. Ahm, as for the update, i have heard of it either but another guy said it is not an official word. Actually, they rarely speak about specific dates, they won't say too much, just implement it. Mysticism :P Anyway, it deserves playing L2 (again), but i have to say that new guys DO sign up for the update's favor. You can generally see comments of type: "Wow, this update (e.g. transformations, new raid, more deadly Kamael stuff) makes me wanna play L2; it really changed the core of the game". Imo they are right. Have you started anyway or am i trying to convince you without any reason? :P

KInda started.  Rolled up.  She wanted to be EE cause 'Elves are cute'.  So I doubt she'd wanna go prophet.  Cuz' ya know... That would be all too simple :P

k so th does well PVE, glad is a PVP char, how well does TH do in PVP?

EE is a quite good clan char, or a 9men party char, but for duos...well, it kinda sucks. Anyways, with the new herbs and these lasting 5 minutes, (critical power added, and vampiric rage also) plus the newbie buffs lasting till 6x, you won't need a buffer, so a TH might be cool partner for an EE, with all the MP herbs and with an EE, as a TH you probably won't run out of mana spamming skills, which will lead to a fast killing proccess. BTW, I heard that daggers are becoming FOTM this chronicle, dunno how true is this, but I've seen this on many reports already. Im gonna start a Plains walker in Teon once Gracia starts ^^.
