WAR will not have many problems on release day . the game is in really good shape and in all honesty could have been released before i even got into beta ! end game content ... there is a lot of it ! so much that us elders have our own server specifically to test the end game ! some of the stuff i get to see and test the guild beta players and general public don't even know about . i know i sound like a total fanboi !!! i hate that but WAR is a solid game . 1 more week until the NDA is lifted . i will tell all about WAR both good and bad .
anyway sorry to hijack this thread. : |

The fact is that it is this kind of Fanboi ignorance that we are seeing less and less of, as people start to wake up to the fact that the game isn't getting better, it just keeps getting worse. |

Until then find new material , at this point there is no comparison to be made between SOE and FC. It's still far to early to determine what will happen with AOC , SOme act as though everyone who quit AOC did so simply because they don't like Funcom . Some left to wait and see what happens , Some left because there was no pvp system in place , Some left due to end game content and others left due to mid range , general stability or performance problems were persistent as well . Who knows what percentage of those people will come back given their issue is adressed , Who knows who won't ? Noone other than that person . |

It amazes me that simply becuase AoC shit a brick at launch, people believe WAR will do so as well. They completely ignore the games are totally different and have completely different developers, yet they still insist on saying "lol thats wat peoples siad bout AoC lolerz!"
So? What does AoC failure have to do with WAR? BTW i am really enjoying AoC...but i realize that alot was promised and very little delivered. The game is far from polished, but I am still enjoying my time (when i can get it to run lol) |

"Shit a brick at launch", haha, I like that. Probably more to do with so many bad releases in the last few years as the genre blew up into a massive business with millions of customers (let's face it, thanks to Blizz and WoW). They all rushed games out to capitalize, and as such 2/3 seem to fail miserably, not closing (though a few have) but not worth looking at. As the cycle continues, I hope to see a lot more companies realize that the one common denominator is a bad release. Now, a bad release isn't Power Word: Kill necessarily, there have been bad releases followed by good CS, support and developer communication, engaging the community that saved them. The reason? As pissy as MMO players are, we generally will give a lot of leeway to the devs when they are honest and develop a real rapport with the players. Much as I hated Jack Emmert's nerfs to the CoX games, he, Positron and the others were on the boards a lot. Jack, (head dev/designer) answered every PM I ever sent him, sometimes with a lengthy reply. Spoiled the hell out of me I guess.
