Avery, what do you know about the gems? Is there any balancing scheduled you know of? In regards to DMG (one-shotting) and the new PvP system.

Any balancing planned that you are privy to? If not, what is your opinion of that situation?

i got this covered.

yes it will all be in a patch soon to come we are working very hard on this.  steak and wine

I don't see the viability of a PvP game with any system surviving when certain classes can stack dmg gems and generally one-shot others. This happens in 1 vs 1 or Grp vs Grp.

It isn't sustainable.

Well you missed forums, MMORPG.COM is meant to be for fanbois vs trolls fight.
All question regarding (any) game are OK before that game is released but past release then its over.

Iam not talking just about AoC but check other forums too and you will get the concept.

p.s. Things tone down a bit several months after release.

Thanks but I've been playing MMOs and warring on forums for many years. You won't school me.

If you've been following the MMORPG AoC boards lately, you'll know why I asked for no AA bashing. He is the GC after all.

While I have no answer for this, there is a precedent.

In WoW they simply added a stat, I can't remember what its called now, that prevented one-two shot kills from critical hits.

Now while crit isn't nearly as common in AoC, my guess is that they will come up with an anti-gem stat and a rose by any other name would smell as sweet...
 

Blizzard concocted a lot of other crap to deal with gems too, stats, but I didn't know what those were called even when i was playing the game

 

In CoXthey implemented ED (Enhancement Diversification), which was diminishing returns system. You had six slots, but after three of same type, it was pointless to "gem" after that. Blasters for example (mage type) would six-slot dmg and just destroy PvE content.

AoC needs a similar mega-nerf.

about pvp system, they did an anoucement few days ago, to say they are working hard on it, to make it perfect for players before put it on live, and that they had some probleme on test server, so the pvp system will take again longer than expected ( another delay ) no fixe date announced, and it feels like from the post not in august or september.

and about gems, nothing official about it they are busy on other bugs, like fixing the maximum distance between femal chars feets when they walk, or  the new animation when assasin dies and fall on the ground, since this class is going to die alot they wanted to make t
