I was merely trying to make an argument that if people want to defend AoC, it should be for its genuine merits rather than by forwarding false arguments.

A number of defenders disputed that they were forwarding false arguments. No doubt they did not.

becuz they are casual gamers, they spend, 1-2h ingame in a day or two, and becuz they are low lvl, they probably didnt have a raid party fight with 40-50 ppl on the screen, that make your client turn for 0.6fps during all the fight, and becuz they stupid enough to believe that if so many ppl complain about server or client performance, then the probleme must come from these players, and not from the client/servers.

Forgive me if I'm wrong here markyturnip, but your post seems directed at one individual poster here at MMORPG. I say this because I haven't seen any FC/AOC defenders claim any of those things except one guy (besides Lufkin's alt here).

Most defenders will admit problems, but then go on to use the usual excuses, but they will admit them.

The lies I think you are referring to here, are coming from FunCom IMO, I haven't seen our GC lie outright.

Ya, seems like he's directing it to only a group of 1-3people. Most people who defend it are rarely heard on this because they may be on some other forum. Or because there's so many hate posts we can't find a good spot :D but anyways I have to agree with ya that this game is unfixable. I mean even if they make it perfect in content they have to atleast turn down the graphics to atleast WAR style.

I suppose it depends on the server, on my server i just had one day lag issues for some minutes.

So if everything if fine on your end, then the game works great then, right?  All the thousands of posts giving data on the technical problems, are just smoke and mirrors.    Let me guess.....highest level character is about....54?

OP - I'd have to say they are following the leader.   Funcom in large part refuses to acknowledge many of the game's issues (such as the latency spiking problem).   In addition, most of their community representatives ignore those posts or deliberately give false information.  Such as indicating it is a problem with someone's PC setup - meanwhile there is a thread in the Tech support forum, that shows a massive variety of PCs, user locations, ISP providers, etc.  If you call them out on it in a civil manner, they STILL are deleting posts - just happened to me last night.

Another part of it is reflected in the quote above.  People who haven't spent time trying to raid, or do seiging.  Anyone who has done so - even if they aren't experiencing the problem themselves - understands just how many people are affected.   I've been involved in a number of PvE raids, and just did my first seige last night.   The lags/bugs in the seige were laughable - not even worth going into.   Latency spiking in PvE raiding is a consistent problem.   Yet Funcom denies these problems exist through refusing to address them.  

It's become quite dull even posting on the AoC boards.   Aside from posts getting deleted, nonsensical replies like you refer to, get very boring after a while.

Well, the game ran pretty well on my system, and I was in the lower ends of the requirements.  I just didn't enjoy the game.  I leveled two level 60's on a pve server, and made it to 50 on a pvp server, but I didn't really enjoy the game.  The game just wasn't fun after maybe the first 30 levels.  It had potential, and I really looked forward to it, but it was just too bland for my tastes.  Luckily they haven't charged me an extra  month like a few others claim, nor had any real hardware problems.  But I wouldnt sub again uless there are some drastic changes to the game. Maybe in a year or so, they can work out the problems, but how many will even pay attention at that point?

I really haven't seen any many people defend the game in the way the OP referred. I personally like the game but I am aware of its faults (its still young).

I really think the OP is full of crap though, nobody likes the lag spikes ... nobody likes the sudden server crashes. Thats just the reality of the game right now.

I haven't read many people other than myself defending the game at all but the one's who do tend to be honest about the reason.

Dude..if you don't want to play the game I will give you a piece of advice that will help you.

DON'T PLAY IT

AoC is just going to be like all the other garbage MMOs that are still floating around for some reason (*cough DnL cough*) I tried to like this game, went out and bought it blah blah blah...and at the end of the day i just felt that it was plainly crap. there are SOOO many things that they should fix, and alot more than that shouldnt even be IN the game. It seemed to me that it was designed more for show than for a actual awesome gaming experience. Unless they surprise us all with a complete overhaul I dont think ill ever allow that game to reside on my HD Again.
