Will probably mess up your codes, other companies have canceled codes for canceled orders.

Might not be a wise move, either way they will give you time to enter your Retail CD key in after release.

Pinky! are you pondering what I'm pondering?

the CD codes probably match up with the SE and CE codes...so you'd be shooting yourself in the foot.

There is no reason to cancel your preorder, if your worried about playing on launch. Mythic has already stated that they will allow time to put the account keys in for those who are waiting on a delivery.  How long, i'm not sure, but if you made a preorder account, I'm sure they will allow the account to stay open for 1-2 weeks after launch, so people can recive their order in the mail and not have interupted gameplay.

There is absolutely NO WAY that can happen.  Any system that well organized, thought out, and planned would cost way more than it's worth, and probably ten times more of a headache than it's worth.

Also, some codes are definitely independent of the CD codes. Target, for example, gives you the codes and then a $5.00 gift certificate good towards buying the CD later. So no way there for the codes to be matched to a CD key. But I agree with everyone that it would be shooting yourself in the foot to cancel right now.

ok i guess ill leave it be...its just because its costing me 80 some dollars from amazon, and if i waiting till release and went to my local wallmart it would cost 50. Im in nova scotia so my local store has to be wallmart, theres no other gaming stores in my location.  I did that with age of conan from gamestop i cancelled after i got my codes and never had any problems.

You should wait a week or 2 before cancelling, you never know if they have a way of blocking it. Especially me since I ordered it from EAstore :)

The only way the CE is costing 50 dollars is if someone miss prices the box and then hides it until launch day.  The CE and all its Benefits is 80 bucks no matter where you go.   For 50 bucks you dont' get the 12 additional heads, you dont' get the additional quests, or any of the CE specific items.  Its all of those things that makes the CE 80 bucks and worth paying for.  Get the CE mini and save it ebay it and you'll make your 80 bucks back.

Going to Walmart and spending 50 dollars gets you the SE and probably fucks up your account If you notice now that you've entered your codes it says CE Open beta CE Head STart.  THey know that the codes are CE or not...Mythic has thought this out rather well.

You can enter the codes and cancel.  The codes are most likely independant.  When you purchase a pre order from Amazon and they email you a bunch of codes do you think Mythic would have a database of those exact codes, and then cross reference it to make sure you get the exact box with the exact code that they emailed you?

No they won't.  I am 100% positive that once you enter a code it is added to your account and you can then cancel your orders and add ANY retail code to your account.  It has always worked like this.

I am doing the exact same thing, except i'm getting mine from Best Buy.  The reason is because of Amazon's piece of crap media center where they hold all of my private data, but 99% of the time it is impossible to retrieve and just sits there loading for hours on end....  So anyway you would be fine.

Edit:  You will most likely lose any benefits of the CE though of course.
