No, Truth lol.... playing a game for 30 min when a game is in BETA and quitting just shows how unreliable your "friends" are. A game in beta is TESTING many different aspects of their game, thus everything they want/intend will NOT be in the BETA. Please tell how you can actually judge ANYTHING based on 30 min? you can't possibly have any idea about a majority of the functions, gameplay, etc in that much time; gj basing opinions on looks (tho it was most likely on low settings since that's about all beta players could use for awhile). Oh and tell your friends thanks for taking up spots for real testers who want to make the game better, uzendayo. |

The three greatest inspirations in the fantasy world are; LOTRO, D&D and Warhammer. There's no doubt that all the developers have played at least one of those three fantasy games, if not all. Imo, Warcraft looks a hell of a lot more like Warhammer than LOTRO or D&D. Anyone who is unable to realize the comparison of the two games is just a fanboy of WoW. I don't mind there being WoW fanboys. I just hate the ones that feel WoW is far superior to any other game. Yet, WoW is just a bunch of stolen ideas compacted into a single disc that can operate on a sega genesis. LOTRO an inspiration for fantasy games? Maybe you meant the LOTR novels. |

How can anyone who's in the beta NOT think you're a troll after this post? Ok... i'll try to clarify and talk about my first 30 minutes without breaking the NDA (using info that's on the web) and also get across the general idea... It's more or less what you excpect from a mmorpg... it has quests, it has mobs it has npcs and it has classes (yea...i know)... my first minutes were spent like everyone else more or less... learning the UI and reading the ToK... then doing a quest or 5... and reading more in the ToK... and now i'm again spending my days trying to play as much as possible without loosing sleep over the game since i have a job... Does it look like wow... well it has orcs, elfs, humans... but it doesn't have the "cartoonish" feel that wow has... consult the screenshots if you don't believe me... no huge ears that dangle around on elfs... and the orcs look mean... Now if someone wants to tell me that reading the tok and doing quests is breaking the NDA... no it's not since we know from review sites that it's all ingame... So the only reason why war is similar to wow... it's a mmorpg in a fantasy world that's trying to be casual... and it does a much better job then wow does in that category... is it wow 2.0? no... since the story of the world is different... and if you say anything else then you're either a troll or to you reading tolkien is the same as reading Terry Goodkind there... enough of this :P |

I just like how he says the Graphics are horrible. He totally contradicts his whole statement. The graphics in WAR are so badzorz but WoW graphics are totally sweetzorz. In actuality, the graphics in WAR are much better than in WoW. The Character Models also look a lot more, "sick". The black Orc is just no comparison too the POS green orc in WoW. Other than the mere fact that the graphics are purely and obviously better in WAR than in WoW. Not too mention the lighting/shadows in WAR are totally superior to that of WoW. Warhammer created the graphics used in Warcraft. Warhammer than "steals" graphics from WoW. But Warhammer created the graphics in WoW thus stealing only their own ideas. In essence, Warhammer stole their own magnificent graphics because their so good they didn't need to be changed. Really, Warcraft had their own artwork? That's laughable. Warcraft stole shit from WAR and now WAR is based on their own shit. Simple...
If Human creates waffles and god created humans... did god not create waffles? Waffles are freakin' amazing. Just like, Warhammer makes graphics, warcraft steals graphics, warhammer made warcraft. Warhammer then uses their own ideas to make WAR and yet their too blame? |

Lol, yes my bad. LOTRO was a piece of chit. No offense, but Turbine did a horrible job. Mainly because the game lacks content. But other than that, the game is ok. I really dislike almost everything about it though.
But yes, the MANY MANY MANY novels, maps, artwork and just everything that Tolkien wrote/draw whatever was the inspiration. Not Turbines poor conversion of the Lore to the game. Anyone dying to watch Hobbit part 1 and 2? MEMEMEM |
