Polls and getting opinions from "people I talk to" are completely worthless in terms of predicting populations. There are thousands of folks who don't visit fan sites or forums, the silent majority if you will. Also, we won't really see the true populations until all of the perceived overpowered and fotm classes come around. Many folks have a tendency to gravitate towards the classes that perform extremely well. |

You cannot really compare WoW's side balance with WAR for the reason that Both sides in WoW became more populated than the other at one point in the games history. Further more, WAR is about unique classes where as WoW shared classes. This is why you cannot compare WoW and WAR like the OP has just done. Finally, since the cutting of two of the better looking melee tank classes from the game, the numbers are overwhelmingly pointing towards a mass influx of the Chaos Chosen class over any other. At this point, the forces of Chaos are more popular based on class choices and looks than their Order counterparts. This is sad news indeed. |

I used to play in the underpopulated realms at DAoC, each time I chose a server there (I guess because of my bad luck hehe). The worst time was when we were at mids at Ector (preclustering) and hibs had 2/3 of the total population. I always had huge fun. At least being underpopulated in DAoC is not necessary something bad. Actually some players will tell you that the underpopulated realms get more rps per person. But lets not discuss that. We will have to wait and see how numbers really affect the end game in WAR. But assuming that because you dont have numbers, you won't have fun in the game is kinda simplistic. Of course, all this is just my opinion. I want to specially see what steps will Mythic implement for helping the underpopulated side.

You can either agree with me or be wrong! |
Some people need to realize that not having equal numbers in this game will be *much* more detrimental to your gameplay than it is in games like Daoc or WoW. In Daoc, worst you did was lose some relics, in WoW it doesn't really matter since you can't do anything world based anyway.
In WAR if the other side dominates you you lose basically half of endgame since you'll be on defense 90% of the game. Now fun as that may be for a while many people will start to see that progress is linked to *getting* to your enemies capitol. Not being able to do that or not within any reasonable amount of time or opportunities will likely tend to push many people away in the long run aggravating the issue, especially if the "incentives" they thought up don't balance it quickly enough. |

The only reason any of you guys wanna be Destruction is because of Chaos. They look the coolest and most badass so all the dweebs wanna be them. The mind is such a childish thing on that front. "Oh, look mommy it is big and shiny so I want that one". Screw that, I planned on going Order all the way and still will JUST BECAUSE everyone wants to be Destruction. The very reason I was Horde in WOW. Rather be the underdog anyday. REMEMBER THE ALAMO !!!!!! |

I agree with you 100% Thane. Same thing on WoW as far as being Horde goes, and same thing for WAR when it comes out. Personally, having been a High Elf player for Warhammer Fantasy, I despise Dark Elves... I could never beat my friend's Chaos army, and to be honest I think the Orcs are the most idiotic race (literally). High elves are defined, Empire offers a lot of diversity, and Dwarves hold honor in what they do (keep in mind I'm speaking from the tabletop game). And of course everyone and their mother is gonna wanna be Destruction because of Chaos, everytime I went into a hobby shop to buy a regiment for my now growing Ogre Army, some 11-year old would be their with his friend saying 'zomg, l00k!11! Khaoz a3r like, t3h ultimate bad-guiz! I wan2 plai th3m!' and I would, in my head, just think of how overlooked all the other armies are simply because they aren't evil or bad enough. I blame television and movies... (not really, but hey, why not...) |

You're very wrong there. I want to be destruction because only destruction has the exact class I want to play. Let's say I wanted to be a warrior priest (I don't, but lets say I do) If that's the case I MUST be Order. Its got nothing to do with WANTING to be Destruction or Order, and everything to do with class choice and playstyle. At least it does with me. |
