Windows Sucks, Mac OSX rocks, maby thats the reason WOW is so popular?

I really don't think wow will die..and if it dies, it kills itself..

why? because most people i know playing wow, aren't really what we can call "real gamers"..and the reason i play wow now, is to play games with people i know in real life.. sence im in reality have the feeling in wow, that i have done it all & seen it all.. but it works great as an secoundary mmo.

and before when i played everquest, i whas called a nerd and looser, by some of the same people who play wow today... and the only reason they play wow, is because they played warcraft 2 & 3 in the old days.

so many of these will go from wow to real life, before they go from wow to war..

Me on the outher hand, is surly gonna play WAR

Wound or maim yes, but kill no.  Long time WoW players will try WAR first and maybe go to WOTLK for a while, but later return to WAR, or even play both.  There could be a mass migration of serious PvPers from WoW to WAR.  The competition will be interesting to watch.  We can expect a whole new round of WoW free trials, bonuses and beta updates as WAR nears release.

It will be interesting to see the boards tomorrow when the NDA drops, and those arguing either side in the great 'WAR vs WoW" debate actually find out how little they have been arguing over.

the majority of wow players, dosn't play outher mmos.. so they dont read or write on this forums eather..

we who write in warhammer forums, have already shown intrest in the game, positive or negative.. so its a high chance that we all will try it, why else should we talk here?

The majority of WOW players haven't played other MMOs, but the majority of MMO players HAVE played (or still play) WOW. So I think your point is moot.

I really dont understand why its so important that every game has to be a "wow" killer.......Really if your server is full does it matter if the game has 10 million or 250k??....WoW boasts 10 million but honestly that number is much much smaller as we will never see the hourly players in Asia on any of our servers......As for Warhammer I just want a solid, polished game that is fun to play...I dont care if it gets 100k or 20 million subscriptions it doesnt affect me one iota.

(.....)  Where WAR has the potential to hurt WoW is the pvp population. WoW's pvp is an utter joke. Battlegrounds and World PvP have taken a severe backseat to their overhyped and underdeveloped Arena E-Peen/Sport. Gear and resilience rating play such a vital role in PvP now that any fresh 70, or hell alt in lower tiers, gets completely stomped by folks who have already spent tons of time and money into the system. There isn't a way for a casual player to truly compete in such a system, or even break into the system with any chance for immediate success.

It seems Mythic's RvR system was the way to have a "mass" appeal to pvp, as DAoC was the first successful mmorpg to focus on a pvp aspect as endgame. WAR will hopefully continue to cash in on the uniqueness of the RvR system and bring a lot of fun and tactics into pvp again

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed, except from playing CB i can already tell you unless Mythic does something or has something in place for long run the samething will happen to WAR except even sooner since the games sole focus is PvP, wont take long before guilds start to figure out how to "rank up" quickly and attain end game gear quickly, which in turn will push the utter words of "more content" leaving behind any new fresh players in the dust.
