i ve played warcraft on and off for a number of years now and although its still a game i enjoy and fully intend to level up my two characters from level 70-80 at some point , how soon depends a lot on what warhammer has to offer . nearly everyone i know in game are at least willing to give it a try and i would nt be supprised if its any good that the vast majority will stay with warhammer for quite a while before even thinking of returning to warcraft .

a lot depends on  warhammers content. it needs to be some extent similar to warcraft in terms of gameplay (because people like the familiar) but also needs to expand on what warcraft has to offer, espeacially in terms of pvp .

paradoxically it will be world of mouth in warcraft that may be biggest form of promotion for warhammer .

if mythic have truly given us the first real competition to wow the exodus could be huge . but as for it being a wow killer , well that will take time and after all given blizzard only produce one expansion roughly every  two years theres plenty of time to alternate between them both .

all the best for the mmo gamer at the end of the day

To not conform is to conform; Always question orders and demand a reason, least you become a Nazi.

Depends on if you mean people who will leave and return (See: AoC) or leave and not return. In either way, not that much since most people will want to get a free lvl 55 death knight once WLK comes out.

I'm not if your trying to troll or not but War should focus on getting populations from games like AoC and not try and be the "WoW-killer" because past games have tried to become that and they all failed. (until bioware makes an mmo!)

To be honest I kind of hope only the DAoC and EQ players come to WAR.  The thought of the WoW community in WAR is painful.

Nonono.  It needs to expand on DaOC and have nothing to do with WoW which it does beautifully.  Believe me WoW is all the gear grind anyone needs for fourteen lifetimes.  This is a completely different type of game.  Either it will be a breath of fresh air or it will slap you in the face and you will return to something more familiar.

People will come to WAR because they want to experience Mythic-style Realm vs. Realm combat.

The Blizzard people are also very smart.  They see what works and what doesn't.  You can expect them to make further adjustments to keep their game healthy for years to come.

I love Mythic for making DAoC and again for making Warhammer.

But let's not forget Blizzard who also makes great games.

We are lucky to live at a time when there is more than one company who can make a great game.

I mean -- would you want to depend on  Funcom  as you source of online entertainment???

This whole point is a great example of one major reason I plan to stay far away from WoWhammer.

I make it a lifes goal to stay away from the WoW majority.

No offense to many good people who also play WoW, and to the mature young people out there

See you in Washington

I think WAR is going to round up and consolidate a lot of players floating around between MMO's. It'll soak up AoC's players, Vanguard's, our guild has a few from LotRO and Tabula Rasa, and also those messing around with the free-to-plays.

As far as WoW though, I predict a fairly painful hit to Blizzard. The hardcore raiders will stay in WoW, but people fed up with PvP balance, and grind issues will come to stay in WAR.

WoW and WAR combined though will pretty much crush everything else.

You should know there are tons of people in beta here now, and the game is only comparable to WoW by some minute details.  This is a Warhammer + DaOC game not WoWhammer.  You are just making yourself look foolish.
