I like it, instead of it being a button masher you have to think if its the right moment to use that skill. Are you sure you want to use the heal skill, which could make you lose the possibility of using a skill that was on that row that could of helped you much more in the situation you're in. |

Right now im happy someone is trying something different. And remember that TCoS have a realtime combat system, so pushing a button might mean shit if we cant aim right : ) |

woudln't people just put heal on every single roll? and use the same powers over and over... theres not that many possibilities u can put in those slots.... they would do the same combos over and over... same moves over and over.... ive watched the videos and it looks repetative |

Repetative?? I would just like to stop here for one second! Repetative! Compared to what? WoW? People seems to enjoy that amazing repetative combat system with out complaining. Now when we remove auto targeting and make every encounter uniqe, then its repetative?? The skill deck is not absolute, you can even use the UI to remove or make it smaller (from what i have heard), maybe a beta tester can post a "non comment" if he/she agree? |

Not at all. I find the skill deck a breath of fresh air, added to to target system really brings skill to the top. As to if people will be using the same combo's over and over, sure some might but they will be the people dying alot.I will be changing my skill deck for different encounters and lets be honest you never know whats going to happen in pvp. Also when you say people will just use the same combo's all the time does that really matter if you only have a select number of actions?I have seen players in other games that have maybe 40 actions they can use but still only use maybe 5 or 6 in a battle...I mean whats your point? The point here is you will have to set them out before you set off into battle, you said players will have a heal in every rotation but I would say why have 1 in your 1st rotation if you are in pve, maybe pvp if you go a bit more healing spec you would want and maybe even 3 or 4 come the 4th rotation like cone heal or self heal etc depending how you spec, dont forget a group of made up of only dmg guys wont last against a more organised group with ppl floating out to heal etc but again it is customisation for the player which is always a good thing. |

What level are the characters in the videos you've seen? I don't recall any videos of characters over level, what, 15? Of course you're not going to have a huge variety of skills at that level, just take a look at, oh, any other RPG, MMO or not. Based on currently available information, you can potentially have 159 different skills to put on your deck. However, you'll only have 30 slots in your deck. The purpose is to limit what you can do at any given time. It forces you to prioritize and consider what set of skills (and in what order) would be best for your current situation. I think planning will be an important aspect of the endgame, since you can't just waltz into a fight with everything available. |
