From all the things I''ve lost I miss my mind the most. |
Trying to think abit realisticly now, since I never played DAOC and I met a friend who did and he told me about all the problems DAOC had with GOA before. So you guys think GOA can really handle Europe? Im expecting alot of Euros playing WAR since I see this pre-order frenzy all around, which I didnt see before, not even with WoW... so if GOA had all those problems with DAOC which didnt have all this hype and not so many were playing MMOs back then how can they handle such a possible HUGE title like WAR? I mean if Mythic can handle NA which is like 300 mil population and one language, how will GOA handle Europe (like 500 mil population) in so many languages?!
I personally dont see it possible with their slow working crew, limited work force and money. Someone give me hope somehow |

Well in 2 weeks we will know. If we Eu players haven't been able to set up our accounts and d/l the OB client, and the servers aren't up then GOA will have failed. Just a waiting game now. Personally, I think if WAR was called WOOFUS and was a flash browser based mmo, we'd be ok in GOA's hands. Unfortunately it isn't. Fingers crossed. |

There is a war going on for your mind. |
I think that if Mythic and EA had a choice, they wouldn't be allowing GOA to handle it. I think that in itself is very telling of how capable GOA is. |

| Cover girl cutouts throw pop-ups ads infecting victims with silicone shrapnel. Postproduction debutants pursue you in Nascar chariots. They construct ransom letters from biblical passages and bleed mascara into the holy waters of minds. They flash logos and blast ghettos; their embroidered neckties say stop snitching. They shout at you, 'pay no attention to the man behind the barred curtain nor the craters beneath the draped flag, those hoods are there for your protection.’ |

Game hopping since 2003. |
Aye I remember a lot of problems with the DAoC billing system so my heart dropped when I saw GOA. |

GOA was pretty good at the Leipzeig showing. Seems like they MAY have gotten their act together, but let's wait and see. If everything goes as promised until the 7th, then you can have greater peace of mind that they aren't going to **** things up when it comes out for real. |

I have played DAOC and in that case GOA had delays releasing new patches/new versions compared to Mythic in the US. But that was their agreement, due to EU localizations. But otherwise I believe the service was quite decent, without excelling in anything ( except for the websites - quite crappy compared to Mythic's). I can definetely say that having the servers/supported hosted/provided by GOA didn't hinder my in-game experience. |

They announce the preorder program tomorrow 28th, as it goes official there. They will announce when to get the client etc
Also, there is a dev post answering many of the critics. You can always find dev posts at Warhammeralliance front page, on the right side. There is a dev tracker there. Here is the direct link to the post he writes WAR is our flagship project and a lot is at stake for us with this. We understand this game and how big it might be here in Europe. We've invested a massive amount of money and resources into gearing up for this game specifically. We've hired hundreds of new staff, we've opened a new company here in Ireland to operate it and recruited some top class management to lead the way. We've spent a fortune on a new datacentre, we've put crazy amounts of money aside for the pre and post launch marketing blitz and we've essentially completely rebuilt the company just for this project. |

The numbers I've seen on some other forum is 9 million euros just for hardware. :) While I do not have reasons to praise them, I am confident the release will be just fine. |
