I really dont know too much about AOC and didnt know much leading up to release. Therefore, I didnt have any expectations to be dashed at launch. I have read some of the negative comments, but it sounds tolerable. For example, I hear there is a ton of zoning, but I'm an ex EQ2 player so I can take it. I can handle reasonably choppy graphics as an ex Vanguard and EQ2 player, so as long as my ati phenom 9600 2gigram geforce 7600GT runs it well on medium I'll be content. So if I'm not expecting much, will I still be disappointed?

If you have to ask, are you sure you should be considering it?

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective.

Honestly,  there will be a 99% chance you will be frustrated and leave the game in a few weeks anyway.

You still probably wont like it, theres too many bugs and imbalances and the game has a boring feel to it. And on top of that you will quickly wish they would stop patching since they usually break more than they fix.

Darkfall Releases - January 22nd, 2009!!! Vaporware trolls = scum

You will love the game from levels 1-20 and think you have found yourself a game to play for the next 10 years and all of those trolls on forums must be wrong.

Then you will leave the single player part of the game and then be right back here posting about how you wasted $$$

I'd say try and take the buddy trial .If you can't for whatever reason spend a little more time researching the problems present in game. As someone who was in your position. I can say I had no pre conceived idea of what to expect outside of intial Reviews, Didn't find the game as bad as most people present it , Some aspects I enjoyed some I didn't ,mostly stability issues and the no show PVP patch . I enjoyed it enough to give it another shot sometime in the future,Not enough to pay to play ,while they still work out major issues.

I think you'll have a much better experience than someone going in looking for the features and hype that were advertised prior to launch.

If I could give any advice though is to wait for the upcoming PvP update (unless PvP is not your thing).

Im an ex EQ2 player. The zones and instances in AoC makes EQ2 feel like World of Warcrafts Zones.

Don't settle for a half assed MMO everyone deserves better than that. This is exactly what the developers want to hear; a person who is so used to having crappy games that they will still buy em because crappy game A is better than crappy game B.

Wait about 6 or 9 months before buying this. It can get better but right now, it is nowhere near the quality for the price of the game. The problems with this game is so much more than just glitchy graphics and over using of zones and instances. There is way more problems currently.

Give it about 6 to 9 months... or even a year

I hadn't read anything of the development for AoC, as I didn't even plan to get it. My brother picked it up and let me create a character on his account, and i have to say, after level 20 it just got really not fun. Running several zones over to talk to this person, then back, and into another direction got annoying fast. Maybe it was just the low levelness with nothing to do but grind, grind, and grind some more, but I found the game pretty much just boring.
