I watched the Democratic National Convention tonight and I watched and listened to Hillary's speech. First, I wanted to say, I give her props on her speech. As a right sided independent, I was impressed with her. Hell, even some of her jokes were funny. However, the thing that cracked me up was the fact that Hillary did (or did not) do the following things:
The girl was smart. I'd give her that. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing. You mark my words, she run again in 2016 and no one can peg anything to her tying her to Obama. Her speech was flawless. She came out of the speech as a winner. She did not cave in. I disagree with her about most of her policies but damn, you dems....what were you thinking not voting her in as a Presidential Candidate. She would have SMOKED McCain. But the Dems had to settle for a guy so Left field he makes Ed Kennedy look like Ronald Reagon. If the Dems voted Clinton in, I guaranteed she would have won. It wouldn't even be a close race. I gave Hillary's Speech an A. Heh, she was clever. |

Wow....I flipped to Fox post-speech and heard the exact same talking points. You are so exact I bet you had to rewind quite a few times to write everything down word for word huh? Honestly I got a little worried at the beginning when Clinton spent a little too much time on herself. But then I realized that it was a necessary strategy. First she builds herself up, then she brings in Obama, then she tears down McCain, then she combines with Obama and sort of pushes him forward at the end. Speeches hardly ever move me, but it was done well enough. I think the absolute key was in how enthusiastic she was. You'd be stupid to think she wasn't still irked or disappointed with her loss, but she didn't show it at all. It was more than a Poker Face, or an acting job, it was genuine.
Oh, and I like the new strategy of praising the crap out of Clinton immediately after it was clear she was not the VP choice. I don't think it will back-fire, but I don't really see it working either. This isn't clever enough for Rove so I am guessing some Rove-wannabe on the McCain campaign thought it up. |

LOL, no I was watching it on CBS. They were (on CBS) was interviewing some crazy glitter woman with a cowbay hat (a super delegate)about how Hillary was good at making Obama look like a good person but she thought that Hillary should have mentioned more about him but damn...if Fox said almost the same thing, then I must be doing something right! Glad Im not the only one who noticed that! But you saw the same speech I did. Did you find it odd she didn't talk about Obama as much? Like I said, Im a right sided independent so Im not hiding that fact. I loved her speech and I thought she written it well. I do agree with you that she is still pissed at him but I also think she wrote that speech strategically because if anything were to happen during Obama's reign (if he wins....highly doubtful tho) then she would have no ties whatsoever. I thought it was genious. |

It was that scary Skeleton looking guy Fox News always interviews. I think he is from the Washington Journal or post or something. Also, I apologize about getting more personal than I should have. It's late and I saw 4 or 5 of these anti-MSNBC, anti-Democrat posts pop up and am just trying to get a little counter in before I get to bed. I know a lot of people scan these before they head off to work or school in the morning and it is easy to believe something second or third-hand if it is the only source of info and is repeated enough times by enough people.
But yeah, I thought it wasn't pro-Obama enough. I don't blame her for that, but rather the democrats themselves. If they hadn't cried foul so long and loud she would have probably been happy to deliver a more Pro-Obama Speech. At this point it only helps her if Obama wins. If I was a Democratic Senator looking at a potential High Democratic Majority Congress I'd sure as hell want a Democratic Executive branch. |

I apologize if this sounded like an Anti-democrate thread. I wasn't trying too. I was stating how genious it was that Hillary did what she did. She washed her hands over the presidential candidate and she did it with grace and tact and insuring her political run for presidency in the future. I literally loved her speech. It was very well written. |

I think the reason Hillary was taken off the table as a VP candidate is because of her husband, Bill. With "friends" like Bill, Obama doesn't need enemies. Here he is again today shooting his mouth off: http://themoderatevoice.com/category/politics/bill-clinton/ I saw this story on the news and after he posed his "hypothetical", he added, "This has nothing to do with what's going on now." That's when I just lost it. I burst into hysterical laughter. I found out later that he added that little caveat because the reporters' jaws almost hit the ground. It's also been said that Bill is upset with the Obama team because they want to keep a tight rein on what he says in his speech at the convention. They want him to focus on Obama when all he really wants to do is talk about himself. Bill Clinton wanting to talk about himself? I'm shocked! |

She made an endorsement to the Democratic party and made Obama a fool for not taking her as a VP. |

Bill Clinton has probably been the greatest president in most people's life time. I think its a little insulting that his party is treating him like a cuok and since Bush the party has drifted far more fiscally irresponsible. To me the real problem I see with Obama is exactly what Bill said. A man who promises you everything you ask for, but you doubt he will be able to accomplish any of it. |
