About a month or so into a game launch, publishers like to announce how many boxes they sold so far. So make your predictions here as to the number of boxes EA Mythic will declare in their first such announcement. Please elaborate on your guestimate...I am getting popcorn.

My number  1.5 million boxes sold and I am sticking with it.

That's right, I said it here and you can all come make fun of me if I am wrong. I know 2008 has been a crap year for MMORPGs, but I am still hopeful.

p.s. This is not a discussion of whether box count means anything or not. There is no "gold standard" for how publishers count this stuff. This is just a little game to see who predicts the closest.

Dunno and I dont care....ill be there to play no matter who shows up.

Box count doesnt mean anything in the long run, its the amount of subs they have after, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc...

Vanguard could have had a ton of box sales, doesnt matter.  AoC could have had a ton of box sales, obviously doesnt matter.

How many were shipped or made?

Well they have 800,000 beta signups. I imagine that perhaps 50k or so of those are duplicates, 50k wont play the game because they didnt like the beta.

That puts probably 700k who will buy the game right there, take into account all the new breed of Jock MMOers who dont care at all about games until somebody tells them about it. So I am guessing yea 1.5 mil is probably gonna be pretty accurate.

Probably like 1.5 mil boxes sold and 500k-1m sold through Direct 2 drive/EA download means.

I am going to say more than 500k boxes will be sold in the 1st month and no less than that.
