Seriously though, that is quite ironic to hear from you. A guy, who believes a game to definitely be vapor, after seeing a 20 minute game play video.

Prove to me that is game play footage. Where's the UI? Who played it. Did you play it? Who was controlling the characters.

Until its officially on the market generating sales, this is Vaperwa

re. Having the developers posting it on youtube and other sites does not prove anything. Anyone can make a video like that given enough spare time in a college computer lab.

Hey Enigma,

I typically agree with your philosophy and ideas, but I'm wondering why you think they'd go to all this trouble to make vaporware. It just doesn't seem logical.

On a side note, I'll be happy if Darkfall delivers without great graphics. Graphics are just eye-candy to me and quickly fall by the wayside.

Normally I would typicall agree with you, but this game screame Mourning, Age of Mourning, Realms of Torment to me. They even came out with a beta, used the same publisher Darkfall is using and then at the last minute, the company pulled the plug, took the monies and left.
 

You should google it. Hell even do a search for it here at mmorpg.com. Theres a 400 page thread on this company and everyone who loved the game was saying the SAME EXACT THING as those who like Darkfall is saying. In the end, those loyal fans of Mourning lost out of 60 bucks and the owner laughed all the way to the bank.

I don't understand why there are people who say this game will be a joke..

I'm not a fanboy, I even don't think I will ever play this game

Somone is getting desperate. A video proves nothing, everyone knows that. You need to get off your lazy a**, get into beta and prove it to yourself.

I couldn't put that any better. The video was scripted it is obvious it looks more like a in-game cinematic then game play by far. I'd like to see game elements, because a game isn't a game without core elements in which we seen none.

There's UI in many parts of the video, just watch it. I didn't play it, I wish I would've been, though!

With that kind of analogy, I could say that any game in development is vapor. Your points are very vague. Is this your solid proof? Is this where you get all of your enthusiasm?

If Darkfall beta turns out to be bad, how would they trick the player's money? They've stated that they won't charge anything, until you've played the game. Wouldn't be so wise to say anything like that, if they were planning to do the contrary.

A dev talk for 30sec-1min? Just go read all of the Warcry Darkfall journals, I bet they cover over two hours of dev speak.

If they actually have a 30 sec dev talk, you'd be whining for a long game play vid, right?

To be honest Aventurine have a Dev plan and the Beta and Video wer on that plan. Trying to make out it was the community that caused them to produce it is rubbish.

That said when they get to the point where they can show more they have done and that always happens on the Official Site.

Well done Aventurine and the DF Dev team lets now roll onto the Open Beta.
