Then maybe you shouldnt be playing the game ><

I kinda agree with the OP

If these specific hardware causes a handicap for us regualr mouse peeps, hell yea i want it banned

It just won't happen, regardless of what we know already about Mythic's stance on this posted earlier in this very thread... Look at it this way;

The Logitech G15 Keyboard is hailed as one of the best gaming keyboard available by many people. There are many other keyboards out there with exactly the same functionality, some of the Razer series for example.

These keyboards are not exactly cheap either, so those that have invested in them want to use them, not plug in a crappy keyboard each time they want to play a game.

You wouldn't like it if Mythic or any other company dictated what hardware you use on any level in just the same way that you wouldn't want people telling you what food to eat or which beverages to drink.

*edit* You could always go out and buy a programmable keyboard or mouse if you wanted too, it's not like it's anything special that's only available to some elite class of gamer.

I got my G11 for £40 from play.com, as being severly disabled (with 29 different conditions/diseases ) I got it for 3 reasons.

1 - It lit up so when I have terrible insomnia due to pain I can play at 3am and still see what keys I was hitting in the dark.

2 - The 18 "G" keys on the left are all reachable by my left hand and so I can move to them easily, all I do is program up the driver to have a G key correspond to a normal keyboard keystroke.

3 - The keypresses are like silk and not hard and clunky like other keyboards

I know that the keyboard also supports a "string" of key presses, say q then wait for 100ms then r etc etc.

I have never seen the point to that because it's more likely that something will go wrong and the macro will fail anyways.

Considering a lot of keyboards can do programmable keys if 1 make was banned the whole hardware community would most likely take EA to court over this, and I notice that Z-boards almost constantly give away keyboards on this site as competition prizes.

Anyways it would only cost me £30 to take EA to court for discriminating against disabled people in the UK (yup we even have a law against it considering how rife it is) and I think they wouln't want all the bad press associated with it.

Current MMO''s pale in comparison to the glory days of MUDs.

OP obviously has no clue what he's talking about. No hardware is in any way going to be banned, rather, the act of scripting gameplay (i.e. I'm going to step outside for a smoke and let the cpu play for me) is the issues. If you've never played an MMO before, this may come as a surprise to you, but likely you'd STILL be smart enough to know the OP is a tool.

To all the people whinging about been beaten by people with awesome keyboards...

!!!GROW UP, GET A JOB, AND BUY ONE!!!

Sorry but seriously, you are showing a complete lack of knowledge both for how these devices work and the advantage they give us the lucky over you the unable to aquire one

I have a G15, a G9 a N52 and FragPedals (yes i have 4 buttons on the FLOOR)

Im not going to even try and count how many buttons that allows me to have but its a HELL OF ALOT

But the thing about these devices is that the reason we use them is generally not to macro our characters to move around without us actually playing but because they give us a wide and vast range of keys in the perfect places.

This is an advantage for sure, hell i can set 10 moves to my thumb alone and thats only using one  profile on the N52, does it make me a better player than anybody else? NO Sure maybe ill have the upper hand on a clicker, hell anybody whos a clicker is at a disadvantage anyway but basically im still at the same gameplay level as everyone else, i just have more options in how i set my keys up.

And honestly that my choice and my right, hell i paid a fortune for all these devices:

G9 - $140

G15 - $87

N52 - $20 (Second hand ftw)

FragPedals - $80

And thats $AU

I earnt the money and spent it how i liked, and with Gork and Mork as my witness i will not pay a subscription for a company thats going to dictate what i can and cannot use.

What you all worried about is people clicking one button that does a million things all in the blink of the eye, and honestly before you all scream bloody murder how about you actually buy one of these devices and try and do this magical combination. No matter what you do, the game is still going to do things at the same speed, sure you could set a spell rotation up, but what if the enemy players does something halfway through that you need to counter attack to? You have to wait until the script is over, by then your most likely dead.

And have any of you actually played the game yet? Hell i played a Shaman and that guys soo unpredictable scripting would put you back into pre-school when compared to a player who doesnt use macros.

At the end of the day, sure you can do some really cool things with these keyboards and devices, but its nothing that is going to give you the upperhand against other players. The only people who whinge are the ones who cant afford to have them, and in that situation, they also have no right to argue about how we spend our money.

G15

Theyre useful for more games than WoW, try a FPS like COD4, theyre perfect for that style gameplay.

Best way to utilise these keyboards in MMORPGs is from level one, assign your first move to a key on the device, next level you assign your next move to another key. Keep doing this until you hit end game.

By level 40 you will have completely forgotten that you ever clicked a button on your UI again and you will be a hell of a lot more efficient at what you do.

Just add up all the time it takes to move you mouse to a button and click it

Now add up the time it takes to click multiple keys

The answer = Buy an uber keyboard and never be a clicker again
