I've heard different opinions which varies vastly about the zone size in WAR, one where they insinst in every zone being bigger than The Barren's in WoW, and another that they are much smaller in those in WoW. Can anyone make it clear which one is correct? |

The thing about zone size at least in my opinion which i only have experience in Ekrund (Dwarf starter area). Is that zone size does not matter, you are not forced to trudge long distances to complete quests or turn things in. With the scenarios or pvp instances the run to get into the action is much less than "that other game". Point: WAR puts you in the action and keeps you there. |

Yes i think they are smaller but again you dont notice it, because there is so much to do that will keep you moving foward. No back-tracking like in your example of the barrens. |

I see, too bad. After all I've heard of people saying that the zones would be huge. Where do all these lies originate from? |

The zones may be huge, like i said i only saw up to the end of Ekrund lvls 1-8, and the Gates of Ekrund scenario. Thing is why would you want huge color-less zones like the barrens? As i was making my way through ekrund there were explosions everywhere and plenty of "clickables" that gave the environment a good immersive-ness. |

the answer is "both". Early zones are fairly small (typical starter locations which require less travel). However, later on the zones get quite large. Comparing to barrens is a bit misleading though since Barrens is probably the worst zone ever created in any MMO. It's the typcial "Screw you Horder - should have rolled alliance instead" design that plagued WoW since day one. I never want to see a zone the size of Barrens again - or better if they create one, how about actually fill it with content and not miles of running just to get to the next quest? |

Dunno, guess it is my taste. I like to get the feel of being placed in a huge and spacy world. |

I see. Yes, can agree with that Barrens was a pretty boring place. It was one of the reasons why it made me quit for the first time. I didn't even make it to lv20, lmao. Well, let't take a Tier as an example instead. If you count every zones in a tier, it would become pretty damn big, wouldn't it? However, from the maps I've seen, it seems like the road that connect to the next zone is surrounded by mountains which destroys the "huge" feeling. |
