Now it's down by another 0.1 while NOONE voted anything. I always knew the mods here hate Darkfall but isn't this a little too obvious even for them?

I watched it go down from 7.06 to 7.05 after I had cast my vote. Also 3 more new votes registered around that time. Besides, people can change their vote and that should logically not register as a new vote - but the result would change.

"In EVE, no one gives a damn about a fair fight." - chafin

Rather focus the attention on the developing - if the game really blows, the players will come by themselves. 5-6 professional testers? Did you watch the video? I guess there were a little more than 5-6 people playing in the video (city siege anyone?)  - Of course I noticed the other players.  Could have been the Developers, the Marketing Dept, (OK, maybe not, staff of 0 wouldn't help much) friends and family, artists etc behind the controls. But I assure you, those weren't all professional testers.

Of course they trailer didn't guarantee a good game but it's the best chance we have - and it doesn't look too bad - No, I'll agree, I thought it looked great and I'm interested in playing it.

@Eve: Sorry, but I really don't like games like Eve; for once I prefer a fantasy set-up. Second: Vets have an enormous advantage over newbies and for third, but not least: Autoattack!!!1111omglololol -

Sigh, proving you really don't understand EVE's gameplay at all, which is a shame, because you are missing out on a great game.  But its definitely not a fantasy game, which won't be changing in the near future. Besides, we're talking about DFO here.

Considering all the vaportrolls who gave the game a 1 cause they didn't believe in Darkfall ever beeing released (pretty much proven wrong right now), I don't see the problem. Anyway, taking part in a campaign like this one isn't just to piss you guys off. It's actually pretty fun and hypes yourself for Darkfall even more. - Its also fun to fence words with DFO fanbois trying to hype out the meters that I personally pay no attention to. (never even voted actually)

This is why it will be soo sweet to see it #1 on the anticipation scale.  Of course until they find some reason to remove it again *cough* lowering size of list *cough*

Good point.  The MMORPG community (as a whole) has always hated World of Warcraft as well.  Thinking about it, that could speak very well for the future of Darkfall Online.  Guess we'll know next month.

"I'll take MMO disasters for $50, Alex."

"This MMO release in 2008 lost half its player base in the first month after massive hype of non existent features"

"What is Age of Conan?" ...

"Correct, for $50, Ed2099"!

If you read the first post on this page they say that Mods don't have any influnece over the hype meter.

I'm guessing that a bunch of people voted for this game a while ago, saw this post, and wanted to put the OP in his place.  So they went back and edited their hype.  That would easily explain the lack of increase or decrease in votes.

Are you saying that every hype/vote is permanent and cannot be removed?

that is correct. A Mod cannot remove a hype rating. EVER. If you dont believe what 98% of the community is trying to tell you, email community@mmorpg.com

why in the world would mods alter a hype meter? That's just assanizing to believe such a thing and it makes you look bad. When the hype drops you blame the people who run the forums.

Well, if I should believe the comments, people are hyping games they like and are hyped up for with a 1 just to get Darkfall above that game. I am not saying that is wrong or right. The main purpose of the hype meter is to get people to subscribe to www.mmorpg.com and little else, even with fake accounts.

I personally gave the game a hype rank of 2. Its been in development for 7 years. Too long. low vote. Thanks OP for the attention to it!

You are assuming way too much, it was just a simple question.  I just thought maybe if the mods felt a hype was dodgy or unreasonable, it would breach some TOS and they'd remove it.  Or if it had some profanity or racist words.

Most games are in development for more than 7 years however they don't announce it.

More on the topic, I deeply apologise for suggesting the moderators of this forum may have had involvment in the recent hype-meter movements.

I know this thread has put a lot of bad publicity onto the Darkfall name and as a community member I feel as if Blixa has done us all a disrespect.

Note the faces you see here or on the Darkfall forums are the minority of the Darkfall community and the final community on release, I would 'beg' you not to listen to them.

Cast your hype on the games features, promises, videos. Cast your hype vote / reconsider your hype vote on the game
