Changes since release? Seriously? That is 6 years of updates including, but not limited to:
And more than that. All in all I like the game and think it is great, need to escape for a while here and there, but I think it is worth playing.

WOTG gave us diff looking mobs. - Raid zones you have to be at least 65 to enter. An if your a DD 75 to be effective. Not to mention you have to be a certain rank for the Dyn and Limbus. - In game PvP is a joke, nobody does them anymore. An its not like others where you can attack aperson with a flag up. Why people mention it is beyond me. - Breeding that takes forever to get your own chobi to ride. Racing and betting that seem to be rigged for the player to lose. - probably wont fix the seek issues for most of the players. - bout time.. - I dunno if 18+ hour bosses is something we should be proud of having. Isnt A.V bad enough without something coming along thats far far worse. |

I think you forget one of the biggest changes was that it went to the 360' platform and brought in more console players that had never played Final Fantasy at all. Many of those who I know playing on the 360 do not even know what we are talking about when we speak about the rest of the series and how the jobs, chocobos or just anything worked. This on thing change face of the people who play the game and have been the catalyst for many of the on going changes. It basically moved FFXI out of the closed world of Playstation into the main stream without really 1 line of code at first. Answer is yes, this is not the Final Fantasy that you 'dad' played but a thriving, more up to date and content rich MMO then most out there now. |

I strongly agree with the posts made above. Final Fantasty XI has changed in multiple aspects, and is a game that I continue to love and play. Join us brother! |

FFXI was my first MMO, and to me it was magic. Of course, I was a huge FF fan and was drawn into the world pretty easily. I really enjoyed playing with people from Japan, as well. The thing that made me stop playing (about the time that WOW and EQ2 debuted) was the forced grouping. I think though, if someone can deal with that, FFXI is a great MMO that should be given a chance by everyone. |

Forced grouping wasn't in FFXI from the start? I definitely came at the wrong time. I couldn't find anyone to group with and I'll gladly solo if it's a game I like and can get somewhere. I finally chucked it after 4 attempts and my discs met mr. garbage man.... |
