     I love WoW.  I think it's the best MMO to keep me so interested and wanting to come back to play.  I tried every MMO out there and WoW always sucks me back in.  The only problem I have is once you reach 58, you go to the Outlands and begin your trek to 70.  Now the main focus here is to start building up reputation by doing quests to 70.  Once your 70, you need to begin gearing up to run the regular instances(Shaat, Slabs, etc.)  So you run these in regular mode, and get some gear to be able to run them in Heroic mode.  Which is cool.  After you run them say 40 or 50 times to get the gear you need to run the same instances in Heroic.  Ok so your geared to do Heroics.  You run them again, but for Badges of Justice and by this time you have pre-kara gear.

The Badges of Justice seem to be a pain in the $%^&.  It cost around 100 something badges to get a piece of gear.  So basically it turns into a badge grind for the gear you need to run ZA.  So now you have to keep running the same old Heroics over and over and over and over and pray that you are able to get into the guilds Kara run to get the full 22 badges after you clear it.   This is a tedious ordeal if your not hardcore and have a life outside the basement filled with mountain dew cans and hotpockets.  So this to me is the only downfall with the game so far.  So what's your opinion?  Is it worth even doing this?

So basically your asking us if your enjoying life? I'de have to assume if your questioning it.. Then your probably "doing it wrong".... I look at WoW as a time dumpster.. Nothing more.. Nothing less.. but thats mainly because I haven't found a good group to play the game with, because to me having a few quality players make the difference. 

I guess the real question is-- Do you enjoy the grind? If No, Is there anything you do enjoy about the game? If No, Then quit.

Perhaps you need a fresh start ina new life? Remember my brother, WAR is coming.

You sound a bit burnt out possibly?

You post is filled with phrases like "you need to" and "you have to."

The fact is, you don't have to, but you may need to to get what you want out of the game- and that's frustrating (It would be for me at least).

Unless you want to do these things,  WoW is definitely going to aggravate you.

I'd suggest stepping away for a bit and coming back later - it has worked for me in the past.

Yep you have a case of the "have to" and "need to", If you don't WANT TO do these things you need to step away and come back in a few months.

I left WoW for the same reason and haven't been back in five months.

If you need to do something in WoW you aren't having fun anymore. Games are supposed to be fun.

Once a grind in a mmo feels like a grind you should leave the mmo.

Well I have definatly not run any instance 40 - 50 times. And I am max with most if TBC factions, I run ZA and Kara for heroic badges.. score 40+ badges a week that way.. throw in a few 5 mans, the odd grull and can score 100 badges with ease.. I work an 8.5 hour day + 1 hour traveling and work shifts so often go a week without an guild action.

There are changes in wrath you might be interested in.

Heroics only require friendly rep with factions to unlock , if you wear the tabard for say Faction 1 but your running a dungon that scores Faction with Faction 2 you will earm both Faction 1 and Faction 2 Faction.

The fact is blizzard has lowered the bar time and time again,

• 40man > 25man > 20man > 10man Raids
• Removed attument quests/keys for raid access
• Lowered the Faction required to unlock heroics ( Wrath )
• Tabard system to earn faction for any faction ( Wrath )

God I hope they dont have to lower it again because ppl cant organise a 10man group. pfft. Or complain becuase they cant have everything NOW!.

Well, it sounds like you're pissed off.  You really shouldn't be pissed off at a game.  Here's something to realize, man.

If you are pissed off while you are gearing up, you will not suddenly have a cathartic moment in WoW where your work pays off, and you feel great.  You will just be pissed off for a very long time.  For you, this progression will not end for a good while.  To begin with, even if you were doing tons of runs and progressing at a solid clip, Wrath will hit before you get full Sunwell for sure, so you're not going to finish the BC progression.  Then Wrath will give you a whole new progression to go through, which I think will just piss you off even more.  Lets assume, though, that you eventually get the final tier in Wrath.  Trust me on what I say now.  If you are not having fun on your way to get there, you will simply be a combination of bored and mad at yourself for wasting time once you arrive.

So seriously?  Just quit and wait for Wrath.  Then go through 70-80.  There should be some interesting shit in there.  Then do the instances once or twice, do a few heroics, do a few raids, then quit again.  You might feel like you're dropping something halfway, but ask yourself this.  Does anybody IRL, your family or friends, give a shit about what tier your gear is?  Even if they play, they probably care more that you're happy.  Once you answer that, ask yourself if you really care enough about your character's tier to make yourself frustrated by it.

My opinion is that I didn't do anything close to this.
 

I quested to 70 and went straight to Kara in greens and blues.  Ran Kara a few times, maybe 6 or 8 and got enough badges (22 on a full clear) and equipment to set myself up for ZA.  I never ran a single instance, heroic or otherwise to do it.  I play a couple hours a night, about 4 or 5 days a week.  If I weren't playing WoW, I'd be sitting in front of the TV during that time.  That's the only change I've made to my lifestyle, swapping WoW for TV which I don't watch except for an occassional movie, news or sporting event.  I don't see the problem.
