Yes, it's me again giving an updated review.  I know this might be annoying but hopefully someone starting the game can read these and get a better sense of 1 players changing view of the game.

I'm now almost 3 full weeks into the game and this game has really amazed me in what it's accomplished to do.  It has drawn me in without me even knowing it and has challenged me like few MMO's ever have.  This, my friend, is not your ordinary run of the mill MMO by any means.

The Mechanics - Like stated before, this is a hard, sharp learning curve but one that i got down now and i look at the stats of weapons, ships, upgrades with regular familiarity and am now able to piece together what i need and what i can equip.  To the people who are debating starting this game.  Please do not let the complexity of the systems turn you off from the game.  If I can learn it, anyone can learn it if you give it a shot.  I'm not FULLY understanding of everything yet but i can get around easily now, keep track of what is where, and how to get to places i need to get to now without being hand held.  It takes time.

The Community - Something i addressed in my previous posts was the fact that there were some undesireables in the game.  However, since i last made a post, i've not run across any more.  I've actually come across more people who are willing to help.  Perhaps it's because, like i said before, I'm in mining and there's plenty of the resources to go around but i've actually had people help me out when they really had no reason to but to be nice.  I can't help but think this has to do more with the complexity of the game weeding out the young kids that populate other unnamed MMO's.  FFXI Community is strong because of this fact too and i'm glad to see it's not alone.

Overall, i have to say, people, you gotta try this game.  At least the trial.  Also, please know that if you get the trial through Steam, you get 21 days instead of 14.  Keep this in mind but I can tell you this, by the 14th day you'll know if you want to get this game. I knew about 7 days in and i have now upgraded from a trial account to a full one.  Game was super cheap, the monthly fee is on par with other MMO's and if you use your full trial before you buy the game you can get the game and 44 days for like 20 bucks.  One heck of a deal for a fantastic game.  I hope that more people give this game a try.  I was on the fence for so long because i was intimidated by what i read about how complex it was but, trust me, your chances of being disappointed are slim if you give it a genuine try.

What are you currently up to as far as mining?  Mining cruiser with T2 mining lasers?

Got mining drones in there or do you need combat drones for defense?

I'm curious to see how fast you're growing.  I know when I first started I was probably the dumbest noob in the world and it took me forever to even look at ship bonuses.  I think I was mining in a punisher at one point.

Right now, I have a Catalyst with 2 EP-S Gaussian | Excavation Pulse Mining Lasers, 3 150mm Rail Gun's with Uranium Charge S ammo. Only 1 Medium slot taken with a Civilian Shield Booster for when Rats show up. In my 3 low slots i have 2 Co-Processor I's and a Damage Control 1.  I have a Hobgoblin setup for defense as well. Also, i have a Auto-Targeting System 1 (so great of an item too).  This is a bit overkill but it helps me locate rats when they're incoming, and 3 can jump me and when I get my Shield Booster up, they wont even deplete my shields.  What i do, however, is stay out mining and i have 2 Huge Secured Container's passworded and I just mine and fill them up until they're packed.

When that's done, i finish filling up my ship, go back to dock and grab my Iteron which can empty both containers.  I can make about 325-350k per trip and it takes about an hour.  My stuff isn't great mind you, my skills are still lacking some but mind you, i've not played that long and i'm making money hand over fist now.  Soon as I get about 15-20 million, i plan on upgrading my stuff and moving maybe to 0 sec.

Try to get a Vexor with a few mining lasers and drones. Destroyers are bad for mining. If you can't afford it, use a navitas ;)

nice to see that you are enjoying the game, and, yes, if those out there are indeed unsure, go to Steam and get the 21 day trial. You'll not regret it :)

You preferred the review of a rambling, unfunny moron who obviously missed the point of the game and gave little effort in actually reviewing it over mine?  I have to say that I'm fairly insulted.  My review wasn't an attempt to be humorous and take easy jabs at a game i never played fully so my apologies.

It's always good to see a MMO review from someone that hates MMOs and tries to play solo.  His review was what I had expected his review to be for EVE, except there wasn't any Jita whine.

For mining, I suggest you consider training up mining barges if you plan to do it often.  The tier 2 barge isn't too bad for early money making, an Osprey may suit you better, but the Hulk is just easy mode mining, especially if you would sit in highsec with it since it can tank 0.0 spawns, and shake off highsec npcs.
