I come here
because I care.

All you have is a hideous, script-kiddie home page and you think you're going to make a game?

Yeah, good luck with that.

Jesus is King

Ah, sorry, but I really want to comment on the "christian" thing. I am a Christian, and probably a lot of people know that on these forums, hense my signature and avatar.

Please put on your flame suit for two things: advertising and advertsting the game to Christians. Playing a game with runes is not against Scriptural commands. I don't see the connection. Either way, I'll stop to hender another.. yes, another conversation.

Blessings,

If Christianity is the following of Christ, His words and His leadership, then Christianity is the right way forward. Jesus is the One who claimed to be THE Truth and who possesses all wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:4-5) Though in Christianity many may say or do goofy things, Christ is the Faithful Witness so that is my cornerstone. When I made that decision, the world and all of its religions and philosophies suddenly became clear as it is all of Him, through Him, to Him and for Him.

It's the same connection that drives people to condemn games like Diablo because "it has demons in it", regardless of the fact that you're the one killing the demons, or games like the Magic: the Gathering card game because it represents witchcraft, even though it's not intended to be a literal representation.

Some people are so terrified of spending eternity in "hell" that they spend their entire lives condemning everything that even remotely resembles "evil."

It would be interesting to add that even the priests in the OT wrote curses on scrolls and placed them in bitter water and gave them to women blamed for commiting adultery. If the woman was guilty, she'd contract a disease.

That is in the Bible.

Interesting, no?

Actually.. I'd expect that you would lose more people with the 'christian' label than you would with runes and what not. Like 95% of mmos are fantasy of some sort, and typically have some kind of magic system and they do well enough don't they? There aren't a lot of christians hardcore enough to avoid a game when you compare it to how many people are simply going to steer clear because of the religion.

Anywho.. let's try not to crush his spirit right off the bat, eh?

Isn't Htrae where the bizarros live in the Superman comics?  I guess Bizarro World would be an interesting choice of setting for an mmo.

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

First off don't copy Runescape or any other game. Make a game thats original and is your very own. As for the "no bad things" and "so it is ok for christians" statements. If something isn't real and its pure fantasy or fiction, I don't see how anything can be a bad thing in a game.  I've played Age of Conan, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Perfect World, City of  Heroes/Villains and many more.

And guess what,  I'm a Christian.  Its in how you look at things, of course in real-life I'm not about to cut someones head off or practice some sorta ancient arcane art. What I'm trying to say is video games or any game for that matter are for pure pleasure of the imagination. Nothing more and nothing less. Plus I don't think God is concern with what games someone is playing. When there are so many other physical problems in the real world and video game don't contibute to these real world problems, people do. Well thats just my 2 cent.
