I suggest you delete your character and reroll with a different name then.

In WAR everybody is on the same side, essentially in one huge raid / uber guild. A bad reputation will be very hard to shake off later on and you will find yourself depending on your realm mates a lot as you go up in tiers.

On my server it is already customary to give out greens to newbs so they can better hold on in scenarios and RvR which gives everybody better renown and xp through zone control.

This is clearly a big problem with WAR.  I have noticed this a lot because of the guild structure in WAR.  Guild mates just want to build their guild and therefore they roll need on everything and disperse it to their guild.  I don't agree with this philosophy, but this is what is happening.  Mythic needs to address this and make it so your class can't roll need on something they cannot use.  The honor system just doesn't cut it in a game that is so guild based.

To be honest, I couldn't care less. I am not pvping or pq'ing for the loot, and I am not letting some idiots that roll need for everything spoil my enjoyment of the game.

The pq loot at the end is usually nice, and no one can take that away from you ;).

I am I think?

In other games with a need/greed/pass option it disables "need" if you are unable to use it.

With how it is now why even give the option? Just get rid of the interface all together and randomly hand out all loot. Let players ask if they want something.

As it is right now the interface is just an annoyance. If everyone is pressing need except for a few honest people it's just the same as everyone having the same random chance to get the item when a corpse is opened.

It seems like the looting feature isn't fully implemented right now. Checking "Round Robin" doesn't seem to do anything.

Insert random misqoute here

I see this behavior in every MMO I've played with a Need/Greed system.

If people can't use an item themselves, they'll hit "Greed" anyway, so they can sell it. When asked why they're doing it, they'll say "I need money".

Most people are just greedy by nature and any change to the system will only result in them finding another way to go about it.

This is typically why it's a good idea to have need/greed rules set out when a group first gets started.. If someone goes against it, the leader needs to warn them. If they continue, they get kicked.

That's the point of the Need/Greed system. If I don't need the item, I hit Greed, because if no one needs it, I'm not gonna pass on some coin. Pass is only there to be used if you really don't want or need an item in any way.

There's no need to ask why they're doing it. It's OBVIOUS why they're doing it. It's not rocket science; it's a simple game mechanic that apparently confuses you somehow.

People don't understand that in Warhammer what you see is not always what someone else sees.

e.g.

I'm a Black Orc - I see a Heavy Chest Piece drop, just for Black Orcs only! ooh need... A Shaman in my group sees the item as a Robe, just for Goblins! He rolls need too.

I win.

Goblin says 'Oi, Git - Why is you takin' my Gobbo Robefings?'

It will take time before peple understand this.

"It''s good to be evil."

In PUG Scenario:

I press greed if there are classes that can use the item.

Pressing need if I need it for my friends and there are classes that can't use the item.

In PUG group:

Greed if I don't need the item.

This problem is the worst in any mmo I've seen due the the nature of grouping in this game.  People pop in and out of groups all the time, plus it's hard to keep track of who's who in a warband or 20+ members in a scenario.

In Wow even the younger players know the NbG system.  If they didn't, they soon learn fast enough after being kicked out of groups.  In War, I don't see this happening as being removed from a group doesn't matter as much.

Mythic definitely needs to address this issue.   It doesn't help matter much that people openly admit to rolling Need on everything on the fansites.  A recent poll shows as much as 11% of the people do this.  A complete bummer in an otherwise awesome game.
