In some ways yes , but no not realy , Darkfall is PVP at its very core , thats the whole base of the game , you can explore/harvest/craft /adventure all that other stuff , but the game is full loot FFA pvp with no safe zones at all so one time or another you will get into a fight no matter what . You could do a lot of stuff to avoid it a lot of time , but eventualy its gonna be there  .

There are no perfect men in this world, only perfect intentions.

Wait a minute....Darkfall is a FULL LOOT PvP MMO? If that is true you have NO idea how long I have been waiting for an MMO be released that has full loot pvp once again.

The last game that had that was UO I believe. Unreal.

I'm really starting to become interested in this game now. :)

You'll have to make friends of peopl ewho will need your crafting services. They can escort you on gathering ventures in exchnge for some goods. I imagine that PVP in cities will have consequences (IE, the guards will kill you on site, like UO). If you own your own home, I expect you can lock yourself inside for crafting sessions

Point is, PVP is everywhere in this game, as i understand it. Its always a possibility that someone might want to attack you. It simply requires a different style of play and more dependancy on the help of others. When UO was new, this was the mentality that made the game great.....it was the first time people could play the game with so many other people. So people didn't just work together becaus they had to, they did it because it was fun.

Now though, people have become so independant that I can't understand why they wanna partake in an mmorpg. Maybe its only to simply show off thier Uber gear that they aquired by themselves or something. They've become a place where people come together to ignore each other, unless they're FORCEd to play together. They they've done it so seldom, they suck at it and it becomes a socially akward endevour.

They game doesnt have a haven from PvP. Hopefull, if you are curious about it, you can get into the comminuty-centric means of play and find a new measure of gaming enjoyment. Crafters need body guards, body guards need gear....everyone needs each other.

You will be able to play this game without looking for PvP but there will be times when PvP will find you so you should expect it. There are some ways to avoid PvP if you play smart however. First and foremost don't ever venture into an unallied race's territory as this will certainly lead to a lot of PvP. Be polite to everyone but still be prepared to run if you need to as there will be those that will want to fight regardless of what you say to them. Try to stay off of the 'beaten paths' like roads as these will be PvP hot-spots. The world is going to be huge so you will probably be able to find a out of the way spot and be fairly safe. You can try to avoid PvP by being smart but you wont be able to avoid it entirely. Eventually it will find you but if you play smart you can make the confrontations few and far between. The best way would to get into a large clan in a crafter capacity as this way you will be contributing to the clan and will be under their protection.

Nope, PvP will eventually get to ya. I will play a crafter/explorer type of guy too, but i accept PvP as a part of the game with joy. Adds alot more to the immersion and game experience than a magic bubble that stops bad guys from killing you imo.

QFT. But I don't think you should be deterred. It adds excitement to the game.

With single character per server in, crafters are probably going to be in huge demand since you can't just make stuff for yourself with a 2nd crafter character. Also, because basically the entire economy is player driven which further ups the importance of crafters

You'll have to hide in a clan city, and do what the clan tells you to. But this is a good thing, because this game is a full loot PvP MMO, which everyone is waiting for, since all the other full loot PvP MMO's are... umm... er.... *mumble*.

The answer is yes you can very easily. What you will have to do is be aware of your environment, the world is deliberatly big jsut for that reason, you can do what you like.
