In WoW PvP you always find the person with the greater gear will generally have the fight won before it has started (Depends on other factors to, but this is the main one) Anyway Blizzard could implement the use of more skill by players to win PvP would make this game amazing. How could they add skill to the game? It'd have to be a huge change and I'm not quite sure. Ideas?

Common sense is not so common. |
There are too many skills/armor+weapon items/potions/gadgets/etc to ever make WoW a skill based game. It's more of a "who-can-find-the-hotkey-for-the-trinket-first?" type of game. Look at Guild Wars; you can only bring 8 skills into a PvP match and if those 8 -eight- skills (+ build) aren't wisely put together you're screwed. Remove resilience from WoW and the PvP might actually be enjoyable at 70, I'm going back to the 59 bracket / 60AV for now. At least a 51* can shine against a 60 if the player is in fact "skilled" (in lack of a better word), while 70 PvP encourages quantity over quality. *Yes, it would be foolish to join a match at level 51 |

So basicly youre saying that the person who has spent more hours farming/grinding and playing cant have the advantage because all the time they spent getting thare gear is not fair on people not willing to put the work or hours in.You get two equaly geared players fighing together and you would get one hell of epic fight. I played wow for 2 and half years (quit 3 months ago waiting for lich to come out) and one thing i noticed with wow is the more you put into it the more you get out of it. |

I don't think they should have the advantage at all. That doesn't make for good PVP. That just shows that you've put forth some major hours to get said gear so you don't have to actually try to win, you simply just win. That's not skilled, that's not fun, it's stupid. I'm by no means lashing out at you, mentalynuts, nor WOW for how it's system works. It's just something I, personally, don't agree with. PVP should be played off of skill, not by the gear you're wearing, which in my view makes it far more enjoyable when you make that kill and ultimately makes those who suck a** try and become better at their given profession / class. |

Then the only way i can see they balancing pvp out would be to have set gear choices.Or gear ranking system.dont get me wrong i think wow is to gear dependant myself and yes it does such but unless blizz think of some way to reward the people who do the grinding/farming houres some other way i cant see it changing. e.g before arrena or bgs you get to pick one of four gear sets one for each talent spec and one for hybrid specs.problem with this is making people happy as you get some wiered specs and the gear choices wont come into they spec. or with gear ranking system you are ranked on youre gear levels and are put into the bgs/arenas with only people within youre ranking bracket.Downfall of this would be long waiting times.
no matter what blizz actualy do because the game is played by so many people will never be happy. |

Ehh, skill does make up some of it IMHO. I used to have a rogue at 70 in mix 'n match welfare epix, Kara drops, and a couple badge pieces... quite frequently I'd rape people in arena gear for the simple fact that I could play my character better then they could theirs... and with a latency averaging 180 to top it off. It's simple, a 4-button combination might =win in most cases, but when you're against someone who's got a pretty good idea how you're gonna play your toon and knows how to counter it, skill does come into play. On that note, the other day I was grinding with my 33 rogue (in mostly pre-20 gear no less), got attacked at less than half hp by a 34 rogue and came out on top. Goes to show gear, levels, and even unfair advantages like missing hp don't always determine the outcome. |
