So after playing mmorpg exclusively for two years I find it hard to play single players games last single player game I got and completed was FF12 about two years ago got about 200+ hours in that game and the shortly after that my ps2 broke and I never bothered to get a ps3 or a 360, no games had interested me. So I have been playing mmorpg exclusively for two years, only other game I have been playing was TF2, but that's a multi player.....anyway I recently got a XBOX360 about 3 weeks ago and so far iv only got a total of ten hours of gaming in it.. I just find it hard to stay entertained by a single player game for long periods of time like I used too...it just seems so empty know... so hehe...anyone else in my situation ;p

I have the exact same issue. I liked Oblivion, I thoroughly enjoyed it but the more I played it the more I realized I was getting all these cool skills, powers etc and couldnt use them to pummel an opposing player with them. I quit playing it because "what was the point". Of course I felt similar in LOTRO and Vanguard. The days of pve only MMOs has gone the way of the do-do bird. Warhammer Online is the first online game I have played in a long time that I can't really find any major issues with. It has some minor animation issues like how archers fire straight up in the air when a mob is right in front of them and my witch hunter's bullets move too slow through the air; but honestly I havent found a single broken quest, the PQs are excellent and the RVR is very fun. So far I give it a 9/10.

As I remember I haven't actually bought a single player game since I started playing mmorpg's... Only time I play single players, is when I don't have internet available So I guess I can relate, I just go for what I prefer |

Total opposite here. The more I play MMORPGs, the less I want to play MMORPGs. In fact, the more I play online, the less I want to play online. Although I do play multiplayer, it's normally local.... as in you can see and talk directly to the other players... because you're in the same room.... <sigh> Kids today!!

I agree with you. The more I play MMO's the more I hate them. Every single one I play (P2P or F2P) have the same stupid fighting dynamics...except AoC but it has other issues that will hopefully be fixed. Their are some MMO's coming out in the future (hopefully this year) that look interesting and may be a good boost to MMO gaming but right now all games I've played have just bored me to death. I play mostly single player games and sometimes multiplayer. The problem I find with multiplayer (and also with MMO's) is after a few months of a new game coming out it gets riddled with hackers, bots which totally ruins the game for me. On the Xbox 360 you probably have fewer people cheating but I like the keyboard and joystick much more (at least until someone comes out with a better way to control your character). The Released games listed to the left I've played more than half of them and none of them have kept my interest. |

Nostalgia is bad. |
I can't keep my interest in SPs for long. I always feel that it's kind of pointless. Like talking to myself or something. |

I have that same exact problem. The last time I tried to play a single player game, I just felt so alone. And when I tried to get into the game's environment, the surrounding NPCs and such, I just couldnt do it. I knew those NPCs were NOT real in the sense that they couldnt interact with me as a human player could. So with knowing that, I was totally alone in that game world. I could shout hello and all I would hear is, "HELLO..... Hello.....hello...." (echos in the distance) So lonely...! |

Stand up for what you believe; Even if you stand alone. |
The last single player game I was able to actually enjoy was MASS EFFECT. I have about 5 single player games installed right now and haven't played any of them for at least a month now. Then again, I haven't been playing any MMORPG's either for the simple fact that there's just nothing worth my money that interests me out right now :\ good thing I've got my girlfriend, friends, work and school to keep me busy hehe. |

"Searchers after horror haunt strange, far places..." ~ H.P. Lovecraft, "From Beyond" |
Am am the same way, but for me it's been going on more like the last 8 years. I played UO from 1998 to 2006, but I still played some single player games right up through early 2001. The last ones I can remember playing and really enjoying were Deus Ex, Morrowind/Oblivion and KOTOR. I recently, due to the usual mid-year MMOG funk I always get into, have bought and tried some newer single player PC games. Such as some Star Wars games that I missed (Empire at War, Battlefront and Republic Commando), and the Orange Box. Plus there are some hallmark games coming out soon like Fallout 3, Red Alert 3, Starcraft 2 and much later Diablo 3 that I want to play. However there was a large stretch of time when I really didn't touch any games other than the MMOGs I was playing. Probably from 2002 until very recently I didn't try one new single player game, with the exception of Oblivion and KOTOR. There just isn't as much incentive as there is playing with thousands of other real life people. Plus the time investment and cash investment in an MMOG makes it hard to spend free time playing other games or doing some other form of entertainment... |
