I remember playing EQ and they had 4 different pets, and the pets each 4 levels grew in size and had each of their own abilities. You could equip the pets with weapons and armour to increase damage/armour. you could even see them wield the weapons, but not the armour. I thought WoW would have customizable pets where you dont just have another voidwalker like everyone else. And now War just has the Squid herder. Anyone else feel like this?

I remember my ragnarok days i have 2 pet!!! one is rocker and ther other one is bapho jr its kinda cute though

I Dont care how much people bash WoW, WoWs pet system is the best and only getting better.

Try SIms 2 Pets.

You feed them you water them, you walk them.   All the micromanaging you want.

.... every pet is almost exactly the same?  back in the old days different pets had different run speeds and attack speeds, now every pet is the same, except a few different types of pets have special abilities (boars have charge, owls have screech)

but to say best pet system? the system is limited to ONE class, and has almost.... argh.

WoWs pet system has gotten worse every patch.  its terrible, even Linegae2 has a better pet system, and in that system is terrible.

Its just fun to bash WoW isnt it? Yes it is the best and no not every pet is the same, some pets are different looking I think WoW has over 100+ different looking pets, in next expansion each pet will get three talent lines like players so you can completely customize your pet. I know of no pet system that allows that in any other mmorpg. So its limited to one class best that then only having one pet choice, EQ2, EQ and even WAR you only get one pet choice and thats it.

i think cleverer pets will help the players..at the moment, some games' pet systems have setted "UI" for the pet by players themselves. it's a good trend for it.

You obviously never played SWG preCU.

SWG's Creature Handler was an amazing pet system.  The current Beast Master system is vastly inferior.

WoW's system is also inferior.  I've played both.  Hunter is OK, but CH was fantastic.

yes its lots of fun to bash WoW.

First.  100+ different looking pets... most of which are simply reskins of each other.  there are 20 different skills for boars alone, but they all share the same abilities.

link to pet talent trees, haven't heard anything about that.

and yes limited to 1 class.  unlike other games like Lineage2 where pets are pets, and not limited to any class at all.  anyone can get a wolf or dragon.  and sorry to disprove your "facts" but you get plenty more than 1 choice in WAR as far as pets go.

WoWs pet system is terrible.  its simply a class mechanic for the hunter, it's not even a true "pet" system.
