I was just curious to know if there are any really good pirate MMORPGs that anyone really enjoys. I have played PoTC online so far, but just curious if there is something better out there in relation to what I am looking for in a Pirate MMORPG. What I am looking for: * Nice and smooth graphics. (Doesnt have to be the BEST but decent.) * More interaction with other human players. (Such as being able to take a crew of people, on one ship or a fleet of ships, and do quests or missions together, PvP with others, pillage and plunder, and all that good stuff. * Character customization and differences. (Everyone has different roles, such as classes, professions or even crafting skills.) * Economy (Maybe a Auction House or something.) * Player Housing would be nice or some kind of Banking system at least. * Many Areas, cities, and towns to explore! I realize that some of these "preferences" maybe asking a bit much, but I feel that there maybe alot of other Pirate enthusiasts out there besides me, who really want a good MMORPG to play that suits them. I was kind of wondering about Pirates of the Burning Sea. I havent tried it, but maybe some of you have. If anyone has any input at all of any Pirate MMORPGs, that are released or in development that they find is or going to be very rewarding, please let me know!
Edit: I already know about Darkfall and I am a huge fan of it. Trust me, when that comes out, there will be no other game played on my PC. Until then, I was just curious as to something out there holding me over. |

Sign up for the Darkfall beta. Naval combat is in. Full loot PvP is in. No safe zones to run to (except racial city guards). Find a crew, craft a ship, and be a bad a$$ pirate all you want. No instances/zones though. There are underwater/ground caves you can swim/climb to though that are considered dungeons.
Edit: about character customization: You can pick up and train in any skill/spell you want. There are no classes, the game is completly skill based, no levels either. |

Bren Thank you both and yes, I am already planning for Darkfall, with great anticipation. But I was just wanting to mess around with something until then. I am burned out on WoW, FFXI, and many others. I refuse to go back to them. The Voyage Century Online game you recommended seems kind of neat but, on the bad side of it, I really wanted the Multiplayer interaction, especailly on the ships. lol |

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. |
If you don't mind the cartoony look, there is Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Online. Plus as some have metioned theres Voyage Century and Bounty Bay(Same game different names.), plus Pirates of the Burning Sea. My advice would be Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean, if you want some fanatsy or Pirates of the Burning Sea, if you want something historical. IMHO Voyage Century/Bounty Bay is a crappy game compared to Disney's Pirates and PotBS. |
