Semper Fi!

Curious how you guys who play on RP servers have experienced them?

Are there any RP?

Hows the playerbase? More mature?

Hows the PvP and balance?

People are very friendly and mature on Burlok (EU) at least. There's RvR going every night, but sometimes it takes a little while for the open RvR to get going, as people tend to pop into scenarios instead. Though since I hit tier 2 there's been keep sieges and so forth every evening, just not all the time. There could be a bit more RP - there was more of that in LotRO when I played. Could use a few more RP emotes and a walk toggle in the game to help out a bit.

My dog ate your homework.

Well from what I heard I'm a bit sad I didn't choose a RP server for my guild.

For one thing, balance is bettter there since the immature portion of Destruction finds them "gay" so you get less Destros and of a better quality. Sorry but it is a fact that destruction does appeal a bit more to immature personalities, which is all very well because it goes with the character, especially those of the Greenskins. Waaagh!

RP is not enforced and people tend to spread around more so you tend to get more groups for PQs in way out areas.

Someone playing on one may give you better info though. I'm just reporting what I heard from some of my pals who went playing Destruction on one.

I'm on Burlok (EU) too and have had only good experiences so far. I'm into my dwarfs and I think people find it easy to RP them. I've come across quite a few RP virgins who seem to be making a great effort too...

Happy New Year!

I have only seen one person RP on my server, and that was rare because its just extremely rare for people to chat anyways.

there isn't any RP... No chat to speak of and no socialization.  Most guilds don't RP internally so you don't get it there either.

PvP is a lot of fun.  There are scenarios and open rvr.  If you find where the action is for open rvr it's a lot of fun.  Pick a server with a high pop and a good order/destruction balance.  Some of the servers are heavily destruction loaded so order is so outnumbered that PvP isn't fun.  Also scenario queue times are very long.

"Kill it, Frag it, Nuke it; I don''t care just so long as it dies"

For US at least I see litterally no difference between RP and regular servers aside from naming policies (ie can't name a character pokemanmaster).

Comming soon

Confident, cocky, lazy, dead.

Having a great time developing some greenskin lingo, here. It is way more tempting and fun to rp one than I expected. And there are a lot of similar minded folks on my server. We even have loads of bouts in guild chat or with random peeps during scenario's.

I think the way the races are stereotyped throughout the game gives many of us some good inspiration.

Not many rp events yet though; people are still utterly soaked up in playing the game, of course.

No doubt things will develop to a higher standard in the coming time. Our guild is full of da plans, in that regard and the world is just perfect for RP/PvP events.  Except for level/traveling restrictions ( unless you want to rp a chicken that is ..... )

I play on Ostermark and it is an average RP server. It isn't filled to the brim with roleplaying but it is there. Of course it is only the first week or so and everyone is still getting settled so I could be wrong. I for one always stay relatively in character, just using some dwarven speak as I talk to my guildmates.

Most other players do the same thing, for example if i'm running about the High Elf lands someone always cracks an RP joke about the Dwarf and likewise in the Dwarven lands we always pick on the "silly pointy-eared" High Elves. As far as naming goes everyone does a decent job, I have only seen 3 or 4 names that would be changed if reported.

To answer the questions:

Is there RP? Yes

Are the players more mature? Yes, but I'm sure there is an annoying kiddie or two out there somewhere.

Is the PvP/RvR Balanced? Yes

STOP WHINING!

I'm an avid rper and play on a rp server. Right now everyone is getting used to the game and enjoying the 'game' which is a very nice thing. Enjoy the content available and learn the world, the rp side of things will open up down the road.

That is the nice thing about rp, it allows us to make our own content and help develop the world around us. For now the content in the game is enough, but once people get towards the end game, rp will become more and more available.

I have had a couple brief rp sessions in passing but nothing hardcore yet... I'm positive it will come though. Once the game and the players get a little more established.
