I refer to a post I made in the WoW forum's back in July.

Alright, if I've said anything bad about wow it's only because of my personal experience w/them. I left the game after a few years of playing. In that time I believed things would get better so I kept holding on. Initially the game pulled me in because I played a 2d game - seeing 3d was an improvement. The community in-game was rude ok, downright mean. They didn't help ppl that asked questions, instead they made fun of them. If someone complained about something in chat - they would tag along and go on for hours about how their class was the one underpowered and screwed over. If you don't believe this, have a look at the forums, you don't even have to subscribe to see the negative environment. I fell for it - the whole shebang. I posted on the forums and questioned things like why I was using a class that had a magical dps build but they refused to make magical dps gear in leather that matched the stats on cloth. Blizzard kept saying they would improve things. We all waited and they didn't. I got tired of it after the expansion came and little was done. When guilded, I ran the repetitive raids just to be smacked in the face when told that I can't have THAT gear, it goes to the cloth wearers. There were a few times I got something by handmedown, otherwise it was all decided in favor of the "real" magic users. The odd part is that when they were short a tank I would switch out as needed to a build that favored a tank and used bear form - I hate tanking ok, but I did it to aid groups that didn't care to aid me because of course, when tanking gear dropped it was for the "real" tanks. Lemme tell ya, being a hybrid in that game is drama you don't want - everyone wants you to do a job but refuses to allow you to use the gear to do it. You are left on your own to try to piece something together with rep grinds or crafted/quested items while the rest of the group is picking up fancy shinies that are made for their class. At some point this all became real apparent that my investment was quite one-sided. The thing that made me finally go was when they finally gave my class a cc that was like 6 second duration that wouldn't let you be dmgd and ppl complained until that got watered down into a removable effect by any class with a trinket. Even when I left ppl told me you'll be back - everyone leaves and returns because there are so many ppl here that they have us by the balls, to leave means you leave friends. You know, I cancelled and have never returned. I have no interest in returning to that disgusting community with devs that make fun of their players and promises they never follow thru with. I guess if I say anything bad about the game it is from personal distaste, it wouldn't be just a distance judgment and that makes me able to judge the wow I knew as harshly as I would judge a restaurant that gave me food poisoning. I haven't even mentioned any of the in-game problems like quests not being able to be turned in and bosses bugging out or the fact that you were unable to participate in parts of the game w/out addons. It's just not a good game to me.

Think of wow as the biggest kid in the block... Not everyone likes that. Also since wow has many players it is the easiest game to troll, it will aways be a lot of players getting upset. |

Toothpaste is popular too! That must mean only World of Warcraft players brush their teeth. Don't let the man keep you down, don't brush your teeth. |

All I know is that I've played WoW and it wasn't a bad game but not really my cup of tea, although fantasy mmorpgs are my favorite. I think the biggest problem with the game is the people that play it, not all don't get me wrong but most I've seen are a different breed of a-holes (pardon the language) and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. |
