I intend to live forever -- So far so good!

Reading some of the boards and the things people post on them, there's a good chunk (including myself) that think the games are becoming less social and I thougth about real life.

I've noticed how some parts of life have become less about people interacting.  What I mean is this: Most of your banking is done over the internet, or phone.  You even get your money out of a bank machine.  All your insurence claims are done over the phone.  Your new policies are also done over the phone without ever seeing a live person and speak to them face to face.

$oE , destroying MMO since 1999.

It's true. When we went to the shopping mall to get food I noticed that very few kids were around.

Now, what should kids be doing in a shopping mall you ask?

Well, a few years ago, moms usually brought their kids along to shop and the kids read books etc while moms shopped, or the kids tagged along.

Now I see like almost never anyone shopping but adults.

I just noticed this because we were gonna buy a strip (it's like a hard cover comic , idk in english) but there were none, simply because no kids ask for them anymore.

The new 'generation' of kids stays at home more I think. They make trips but don't go out like on the streets or go shopping etc.

Even when you talk about the grocery store or the shoping malls and what not even they're moving away from casheers.  A few of the supermarkets near me have self checkouts where only 1 person attends to them.  I remember when there used to be cahseers taking my money and now there's just machines.  Even the Home Depot does this.

I think eventually everything is going to be automated or go the way of the internet where you just order a bunch of stuff and it's delivered to your door step a few hours later.  Everything is becoming impersonal and the human element is being removed.

I'm not particularly social and it's not like strangers really care when they say "How are you today?" or "Have a nice day"... I prefer it this way, since it's more convenient.

But I disagree about there not being alot of teenagers or kids about, or atleast that doesn't seem to be the case at where I live. Edit: but I think there's less demand for other things like toys and comics these days because video games are taking over the world
