"Adjusts ponytails and pulls the lollipop out of my mouth"

"we are under Martial Law"

"Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) reports from the floor of the House that the Republicans have been cut out of the process and called unpatriotic for not blindly supporting the fraudulent bailout. He says the only debate has been about what talking points to use on the American people. The most ominous revelation is when he claims the Speaker has declared martial law.

?I have been thrown out of more meetings in this capital in the last 24 hours than I ever thought possible, as a duly elected representative of 825,000 citizens of north Texas.? Said Congressman Burgess.

Burgess asks the Speaker of the House to post the bailout bill on the internet for at least 24 hours instead of passing the largest piece of legislation in US financial history in the dark of night.

The most frightening part of Rep. Burgess? one-minute floor speech is when he says, ?Mr. Speaker I understand we are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night.?"

"there are domestic enemies to the Republic"

"Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) warns the American people about Constitutional enemies of the Republic and the fraudulent trillion(s) dollar bailout…

“My message to the American people don’t let Congress seal this deal. High financial crimes have been committed.”

“The normal legislative process has been shelved. Only a few insiders are doing the dealing, sounds like insider trading to me. These criminals have so much political power than can shut down the normal legislative process of the highest law making body of this land.”

“We are Constitutionally sworn to protect and defend this Republic against all enemies foreign and domestic. And my friends there are enemies.”

“The people pushing this deal are the very ones who are responsible for the implosion on Wall Street. They were fraudulent then and they are fraudulent now.”

"I find your lack of faith disturbing."

Yup, it's a travesty. Devil, get yer gun.

Biden says it's patriotic to pay taxes, now the Democrats are saying it's patriotic to rob the people to help cover up their malfeasance.

Correct me if i am wrong, but martial law is not a good thing under any scope, what about this finiacial crisis made the call for martial law necessairy?

I have a lot of respect for that senator's outrage, it seemed like real outrage and not just rehtoric. This bill is huge, and it seems they want to pass it the way the patriot act was passed, i dont agree with republicans often but the idea too put this bill on the internet first before it is passed is a good idea, actually it should be a requirement for all bils too have to go online first before passing.

It is truely a sad day for Americans. No, this is not good. The part about this financial crisis is that basically we are in DEFCONOMY2, when we reach DECONOMY1 Martial law will be needed to keep order. They would be used to protect banks, grocery stores, and fuel. I hope this doesn't go that far.

I think a bit of it was rambling and out there like saying we are under martial law. However, I am also highly opposed to bail-outs and increasing the national debt. This plan was re-spun to be a credit to the people they are bailing out so they have to repay later. However, I still don't like it since it goes against the grain of capitalism and this is the result of putting capitalist ideals onto a socialist institution. They should have just let it be killed, or should have put more socialist legislation on it earlier. What I find offensive is that the original supporters on this bill were the very same figures who denounced regulation in 2003, 2005, and 2007 that caused this to happen. Chris Dodd and that other guy.

This bailout costs more then double how much is needed to take the entire world out of poverty.

The problem is, the governement alowed this companies too have so much power and influence that them crashing drags the entire country down. There are laws against monopolies for percisley this reason.

The bailout may or may not be necessairy but the one thing that is for certain is, it shouldnt go to one person. There should be a bill, an actual bil, and the congress should do their job and hire a football team of finiacial experts and go through the economy spending line by line, take the time, a speedy bailout will only make things worst. Especially if the money is only going in the hands of a select few corperations, namely the ones who caused the problem.

did you watch the cspan videos linked to that? That was not rambling, That is what has happened, They have invoked martial law in the congress to force them to vote on the bill without reading it. The congress is currently under Martial law, they are forcing this upon them without choice. If the public does not go along with this will they force Martial law upon us as well? That is not far fetched it is actually what has happened in congress.
