Everytime someone makes a comment on a game that isn't 100% positive you will get  at least ten replies calling them a troll. They don't want to discuss the good and bad points of a game. If you don't think their game is the best ever, they will just post a giant picture of a troll. They think that makes them look really clever. Grow up already

We should invent some new words. :)

you can't forget the numerous replies you will see stating people should not "feed the trolls". Sorta ironic I suppose.

Those overusing the word "troll" probably don't know who they are and that's the problem. Your thread won't change anything.

Troll - As in trolling for fish. It's a practical joke or prank played on an unsuspecting forum. You get some bait like 'people who support abortion are evil', you post it in the forum, sit back with some popcorn and watch the fireworks. A troll has no emotional attachement to the topic whatsoever. If you are sincere, even though your post causes the same #@%! storm, you are not a troll.

You're talking about the Darkfall forum, aren't you? It's obvious they misuse the word "troll".   It's almost funny how just questioning anything about that game sets people off. Don't let it get to you. You're every bit as entitled to your skeptism as the fans are to their... what can you call it, really? Blind faith? It happens in every game's forum but that one is especially venomous. The nuttiness makes me laugh, though, too. Sometimes it makes me roll my eyes so hard I can hear them click!

Troll is used to describe someone who has nothing to contribute. If you are bashing games, then that makes you a troll. If you have a well laid out argument thats point is not that the game is doomed to fail or vaporware, then you should not be labled as a troll. However, if we are speaking of df forums, then troll is overused as a force of habit considering the overwhelming number of trolls that migrate there.

I actually think "Darkfall" is the word used most on this site.  (Seriously, in just about any thread on any other game, someone pops up and says "Darkfall will do it better!")
