First, i orderd a collectors edition of WAR, i been waiting for the games since i saw it 2 years ago. i played guild wars then wow..tried some of the free to play which i dont like. im a RPG type of guy..and i love pvp. first..i wana compare it to the game which was so addictive to me...wow 1.Dungeon..tho they have dungeon in war...i tried the sewer...but there is no sense of strategy at all. All you have to do is let the tank lure, heal it and whack mob. While in heroic dungeon in wow..there is a sense of team play..we even use ventrillo just for the sake of coordination..CC wise.U also need a strategy to kill boses. Raid is even harder. 2.Economy..war has none..wow has a lot 3.laggy..everytime a warpriest cast a spell buff.it lags..and other buff as well. 4.Farming..ok this one i hate so much..but but...wow makes farming addictive...everytime i log in..all i want is get more money.get better gears. do many heroics over and over just to get that drop item. tho i hate it so much..but once u get the item u want..u feel so proud.a sense of accomplisment. wow did some psycological thing on farming which make it addictive even tho ppol hate farming..but still they do it. 5. Skills...come on....i hate war skills..i mean the execution of skill is just not right. someone mention that wow skills is like tetris..he is exactly right..the feeling of it just make it addictive. i played wow for 1 yr..and i got bored..but in war..i played it about 2weeks..now im bored. war pvp is awesome..the idea of rvr is nice. but if its the only reason for playing war...then it gets borring easy...

so essentially you expect the first dungeon in the game to require the same level of skill as the highest end raid dungeons in WoW, there isnt enough farming for you, you havent visited the auction house and you dont like PvP.
I think WAR will survive without you. |

Yeah, WoW has a good...4 years on War. I don't think I will be sticking around War for much longer, for now anyway.
I would much rather wait and come back, and see if the game goes anywhere around 6 months-a year after release.

I'm sorry, but the fact that you are complaining that there is no item grind in WAR completely made me stop reading your post. Anyone who can honestly say they LIKE the fact that the sole point in playing WoW is to grind gear, to be able to grind more gear, so that you can then grind MORE gear needs to get punched by a bear. Don't quit your day job (WoW) |

My dear OP what you describe are clearly all WoW strengthes. It was clear from the beginning that in War there is nearly no farming (of items, reputation or craft ingredients), no supersmart and hard PVE instances, no economy (because there is no important crafting). The two points I can agree with you is that the game's performance is horrible and needs to be at least doubled in the next year or Warhammer will fail, and that the responsiveness of skills is not as good as that of WoW yet. Both above mentioned points will very likely be sorted in in due time. But you my friend, WANT to play a game that is like WoW because you are addicted to its "grind for better items" feature. You wont have fun with another game, so congratulations your game is WoW and you will love the addon. For me, I like PvP in Battlegrounds (Scenarios) or in the open and I hate Arena Counterstrike twitch fights. I like to be competitive without having to keep up with a raiding guild or a Arenagroup that "works" on a rigid schedule. I would love for War to be as performant as WoW and to have meaningful crafting and even the odd instance that is more than tank and spank but the above mentioned points are way more than enough for me to move to War. It all depends on taste and you are a WoW player through and through. |

And if a person who never played an mmorpg before started playing both WAR and WOW today. Which version of WOW would he be playing? The one from a few years ago or the one from today? Duh. |

If it cannot compete with an older game right out of the gate, well, too bad. I don't choose games because it is "fair". I choose games based on enjoyment and features.
