There most definitely is some sort of code issue on Mythic's end, and has been recognized as such. I personally run with a 9600GT 512mb, 3.5gb, AMD 4000+ 2.8ghz and this game runs worse than Vanguard.

I play video games to have fun.

Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so as well.

I haven't had any major issues with the game as of yet either, and I've been playing a week now.

My system is mediocre, nvidia 7950 GT OC, 2 gigs of DDRII ram, and an intel 2.8 dual core...

I have good fps (25-45) even in RvR, and run it at a res of 1768 X 962 as I run it on my HDTV.

Not blindly defending it, I just don't have those issues mentioned.

One can say that an MMO can recover from a failed start in certain circumstances, but just like Failcom's AOC, the dev's at Warhammer are scrambling to fix all the CTD's and ever so popular HITCHING that occurs in MMO's when first launched.

All I can say is that jobs are on the line here.  Already you can see youtube videos of current consumers who are getting as little as 4 to 8 FPS with a high rig, ofcourse it could also be network problems, from companies throttling bandwidth from inexperienced home owners who don't know how to manage their networks, could be other things, but it seems like Mythic has its hands full at the moment, this month is really critical for them, to Re-Sub or Not to Re-Sub that is the question over at the Warhammer Alliance forums.  Personally I don't want to see any MMO fail, its just not good for the genre, who is already in shambles after so many epic fails....guess we'll just see the outcome of this fiasco.

99% user error is what we are going to talk about here.

You have.. and I'm sorry people... you have a bunch of retards that think 10 year old computers are going to run modern games.  I have had almost zero problems from pre-order headstart.  I've crashed.. I believe.. 3 times, TOTAL.  No glitching, no lag, nothing.  Instead of using a video card from a crackerjack box, try purchasing your equipment or computers withint the last couple years.  People in general are dumb, and people in general will blame someone else for their problems.

99% of the time.  FAILCOM was a rare exception.  And.. yeah, surprise, I didn't have a problem with performance in that game either.

No, Imperial commander, Nair does not come in wookie size. We do have an ewok 6 pack though

Well, to blow the tech theories out of the water, I have the following system and I get ok performance out of it (similar to my performance in WOW, and mind you, shared internet connection with an appartment complex)

Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ (2.7ghz)

4GB of PC2-6400 RAM between 2 chips

NVidia Motherboard Graphics Card GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 (I think 128 MB and 1GB Shared?)

I seem to be on the cusp (lower end of course) but worked fine during the Keep raid the other day 30+ people (We took it for Order)

What this means in the long term, I don't know, but it is running fine for me, and it handled the extra Beta load fine. And to top the mystery off, it's a slimline desk top. go figure *Shrug*

Tell me something...what mmo are you playing right now?  I will bet almost anything that it had just as many problems, or more, when it first launched.  WAR has had one of the best launches of any mmo to date.  I'm usually willing to give mmo's a few months to sort themselves out before I come down too hard on them.  WAR has been out for 2 weeks now.  2 weeks.  If these problems still exist in a few months then all the criticism will be valid.

I am ex-WAR player now. I am playing Age of Conan and it is quite fun with all the latest changes. AoC kind of had the same launch that WAR. Everybody was really happy in the first 2-3 weeks and then as people started to realize that low FPS and grey map was not going to be patched away very soon, people started to get very loud. AoC did not really clean up till 3 months after launch. I kind of see the same faith for WAR. It is just the way MMO launches seem to go these days.

AoC had a much worse launch than WAR.  I know because I played at launch.  As far as I know, WAR had all its advertised features on day one. AoC did not.  As far as technical issues, AoC had many more problems than WAR.  I'll take your word that AoC is better now because I just played out the first month and then quit.

That's not exactly true.

I will buy that some are having performance issues because I don't see any reason to blatantly call people liars, but, with the exceptioin of some odd bugs that got into this patch which were fixed very quickly, I've had absolutely no problem. Just none.

now, there is some wonky stuff going on with the interface editor for me such as I want the chat window to stay in one place and it keeps wanting to be closer to the top than bottom, but saying it has performance issues, end of story, is stretching it.

If anything is worth doing, do it with all your heart. (The Dhammapada, Buddha)

Bah that's really weird since i didnt saw any of those HUGE GAME BREAKING bugs that people who never played the game speak about... okay i had some performance related stuff, but that needed some tweeking in my computer settings, like almost anygame i play, multiplayer or solo player game... Just because some person have problems that doesnt mean they are a vaste majority, and they are not, it's just that when you have a problem you are more vocal about it than when everything works fine...

This is one of the best and smoothest MMO launches EVER. I think only LOTRO and DAoC had comparably smooth and bug free starts.. and that is a fact not contested by even the most rabid haters of the game.
