I see they are giving a free weekend and i think i'm going to reinstall and check it out again.i haven't played in over a year so i'm curious.i'm defintely disappointed in war and feel lotr was a much more solid and rewarding game having now tried both.so i'll be cancelling my sub to war and may be resubbing to lotr. |

Well... it took 2 weeks for the first of these posts to arrive :) I wish all the "just wait once AoC/WAR are released, this game will die" people would see this :) LMAO DB |

Just want to say that while it's a great game, and encourage anyone who wants to to come back, you'd have to be blind to not admit that the population has taken a huge hit since newer games have come out... I mean I just recently resubbed, and love the game, but feeling a bit empty. |

Having found a solid and entertaining, classy game will not make one stop being curious about other games - I have tried AoC as well for a month. Of course, ran back screaming to LOTRO, which is no wonder :) DB |

LOTRO is almost 20 months old - and only a month away from its first huge expansion. At this point most people are capped and running around doing raids/faction quests/pvmp you name it. This is why there are areas (lower levels that one passes within a couple of days of playing) that can feel empty now. That's no wonder. Still, I think this is a good time to re-sub, as with the launch of Moria there will be a great plenty of players trying new classes, so the lower level areas will be crowded again. (Just ouf of curiosity, I have checked my kinship to see how population is these days. 44 members have been playing in the last 24 hours. Also there are scheduled raids twice a week - and we are a total casual kinship is well :) So the game is very much alive.... a lot more than AoC is, for an example (I assume WAR is still teeming though, which is cool :) DB |

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional. |

I couldn't help noticing this thread. I'm also disappointed with WAR and will be logging back into LOTRO this evening. Most likely will renew my sub over the weekend. The game is wonderful, but I do find myself getting a bit bored after a while and trying other games. Always end up back here though. The only "weakness" LOTRO has, in my opinion, is the classes. They are all a bit.. well... "Meh". Not awful but not exciting either. To me the rest of the game is simply superb. WAR can be quite fun at first, but very shallow. It's not a "great" MMO. More like playing an online FPS actually. |

I haven't been sucked in by a game like this since SWG. Only two games out of 20+ have even held my attention, and that's DAoC and SWG. WAR will be a third. The environment in LoTRO is the best I've seen, but the classes are the worst I've seen. If they got the classes right the first time around, I wouldn't have even tried WAR probably. |
