You kill the Joe, you make some moe

Might ring a bell for those who played Dark age of camelot, preferably before ToA

I was thinking about the fact that theirs no real motivation for people to participate in World pvp, taking keeps and such, and perhaps thats the reason that it is so dead right now and everyone is just jumping into scenarios.

Well I was looking back at what daoc did right, and instantly I thought Darkness Falls, a dungeon that I absolutely fell in love with.

My opinion: Give WAR basically a Darkness Falls, have dev's create a zone that players can only access if they control more keeps/tiers than the opposing side.

By going into this dungeon, perhaps have tough mobs drop speacial turn-in's that players can take back to their capital in exchange for special armor, weapons, potions, trophies, and various other things. Make it an RvR so that when the other side takes control, they're able to enjoy slaughtering the remaining enemies that were still inside.

Also include various areas of diffrent difficulties, for example the boss of this zone could require an entire coordinated raid to take down, along with several of other bosses that drop espeacially exclusive rare loot, but also leave plenty of areas where people can solo, and also form groups for easier good boss targets, and just collecting loot.

Im sure they could pull up something out of the Warhammer lore to create such a place

Any thoughts or comments? Do you think this is a good idea? Is it a bad idea, and if so explain why?

Yea seriously! I thought this game was going to be my DAoC but in all truth ... its not.

Ive been a WAR fanboi since this game release and tried to push myself to like it but i cant. All this game is decent PvP and the rest of just boring. The PvE is so badly done and just cant keep me interested at all, i cant push myself to do this quest.

I tried and tried to play.. but i cant.. its sheer boredom for me and even the PvP gets boring after awhile. This isnt DAoC in no way shape or form. Me and my buddy was talking about it today and we just wish they would of made DAoC 2.

For some reason even the classes seem hollow and they lack alot. What also really really pisses me off is the item system.. that is so BADLY implemented and shallow, sorry but i dont like looking like every bob,tom and steve around and dyes can only do but so much. The game is zoned.. its not seamless and i wish it had a world that just felt like it was ALIVE maybe even  somewhat too WoW or EQ. I want to travel the lands and just enjoy the scenary and grab some friends and hit a dungeon maybe even picking up some nice loot on the way.

BUT YOU CANT IN WAR.. its sooo FRICKIN LINEAR.. i dont care what anybody says.. that game is linear ... Blighted Isles --> Chrace ---> Shadowlands and so on.  The PvP is amazing but everything else is bleh.

So ive moved on and me/friend rerolled on Emerald Dream in WoW so we can experiance some great PvE because in all honesty i just dont think WAR will hold up and thats unfortunate.

Same, but yeah I like the idea. My friend was chatting with me last night and he brought up that same exact thing. Mythic really needs to think about why Dark Age of Camelot was so much fun and why people wanted to RvR. Alot of it was because of Darkness Falls. I also loved the fact that when you lost control you could fight inside of it till you died. Then you had to take the backdoor which was very hard to get through unless you had a nice size group. The zone was just well put together. And what happened to Mythic and its dungeon system anyways. Out of any game, I loved DaoC's dungeons. They were really huge and you could stay in one for almost 6+ levels. They had solo to group to raid content in some of them too. It's like they just said screw it. I don't get this feeling at all inside any of war's dungeons.

They DO have a Darkness Falls.......capital cities! We just aren't seeing it yet because players are still working up to do city sieges. Cities have unlocks and special areas and much MUCH more. Don't think Mythic didn't take lessons learned to heart.  But in any event.....cities will work like DF and EVEN BETTER! So be patient.....I know, a lot to ask for the majority of the MMORPG.com crowd.

What you fail to realize is that scenarios are popular now because they are an easy and casual way to level.  It is a great way for guilds and friends to get together if they aren't on the same page in game (within tier), and they won't be near as popular end game.

You also probably don't know that to unlock certain dungeons and such your city needs to be a certain level, and through city sieging you can lose access or gain access to content.

I agree that there should be more motivation for tier 2 and tier 3 world RVR, but i think at end game the amount of RvR will be there like DaOC, and there are similar things to Darkness Falls in this game.  You are comparing one games end game to anothers main level progression.

Who wants to go level a main character and a buff bot to max level to have fun in DaOC over just getting to end game in WAR to make a comparison?  Not me.

I'm not crazy about the scenarios.  They're fun but there is no strategy.  Run around and zerg.  I'd like to see battlegrounds like daoc had (no queues!) with seige equipment.  Apparently mythic took the idea of small bgs from daoc and made one huge bg for wars' end game.  Why make us wait till end game for seige fun?

InvaderGaz

It reminds me a little bit of WoWs token system, which they implemented in an attempt to get players in PvE raids.

Honestly I think
