When AoC came out I was seriously pissed off because that game was terrible... so all I got was my hopes for Warhammer, and boy was I let down big time. Warhammer is extremely boring. I made it to lvl 7 before I had to give up. There's no chance in hell I'm wasting one cent on recurring on this game. I'm still on the free month and I don't even bother playing NOW THAT IT'S FREE. I bought a giant PC to run AoC when it came out so it sure as hell should be able to run Warhammer... but no... it's loaded with lag and spikes and God knows what. Imagine that... I have to go and bump my account at Blizzard and start playing WoW again because it works. The community might suck big time but the game itself works. |

The game is for people that like things simplistic and I need things complex to keep my attention.
The next MMO Im counting on is FALLEN EARTH. |

MMO after MMO has seen this firestorm of bad player reviews and quick subscriber number drops because WoW has set a new standard of playability for MMOs and none of the new generation have been able to reach that bar yet. It's not like WoW players won't play another game, hell most of them try something else often due to the fact that they play WoW so much that they max out their tolerance for it before the next expansion can come out. The problem is newer games have not even come close to being as playable, or as fun as WoW is. All of these new games were either in production right before WoW came our or shortly after, and they all thought it was this huge gravy train that they were going to get in on if they just said the magic letters M M O. Well, most of them didn't realize you actually had to have a "good" game to make money off it. Some of them went off the everquest standard that the game could be as buggy as hell to launch as long as there was a long term plan for the game and it was marginally fun. Others were buggy and not fun at all and completely crashed and burned. If you want to make a comparison, WoW has the same buisiness format as the movie "Titanic." Make something with a little bit of everything in it that is going to appeal to a wide variety of people and make it easily available to everyone, but most important start with a huge budget and make sure you research what people want first. Yeah it might get panned because it is not as critically acclaimed as some of the other material out there, but at it's base it appeals to the public, and that's what drives sales. There has been room for some smaller niche games that focus more on the sandbox feel or more group based adventuring, but all of these end up doing one of two things, either making the game so technically advanced it won't run properly on 90% of computers, or they don't hold true to their concept, see the behemoth sales WoW has, and tries to change the gameplay in the first month of release and ending up with a swamp of poor gameplay traits that no one wants to mess with. Hopefully since we've had this wave of post WoW launch MMOs now that have crashed and burned, the other games that have just started development will learn some lessons, and we don't get the steaming pile of games that we've had over the last couple years. |

Everyone wants their perfect mmo. WAR or any mmo released in your lifetime will never be close to your perfect game, I promise you. WAR may have bugs but it has enough good qualities to be a good game and since it is a good game it will continue to be supported by its fans. After reading the OPs rant on WAR you can easily realize he isn't looking for Warhammer to play he wants DAoC 2. Ahh well hope you find a game you enjoy.

Originally posted by TsukieU Huh? Are you joking? M&B is not a mediocre game...game is by far way better in its beta stage than most games are at release. The combat is fun and you're not spamming little boxes to do your attacks and it takes skill to actually get good and deadly with some of the weapons like the bow and crossbow. Shooting a bow from horseback in M&B is challanging and fun. The whole game is fun to play. Lots and I mean lots of verious weapons to choose from - all with their own forms of attack - pros and cons. You can raise an army, get a castle. lay seige to your enemies and actually participate in the seiges and command troops. It is like Planetside but its gone medieval! Game rocks...seriously. If I had the money I'd license the engine, and hire programmers to tweak it and turn it into an MMORPG. |

I do think the OP should have stayed away from using the word "fact" to support his opinions; can't stand it when anyone does that. But, it is still his opinion and he has a right to express it w | |
