I know good gameplay and all but any chance there will be graphic updates to Ryzom? it looks relly dated at the moment.
Any links where i can find any information regarding the future updates? |

It honestly baffles me as to how one can say that Ryzom's graphics are dated. Sure, games such as Age of Conan and Aion set a new precedant graphics-wise, but the number of games with such graphics is very very small.
Are you sure you have your settings set to maximum? I still stop and stare at the beauty of the landscape often when in Ryzom... |

Yes everything on max. But for some reason the environments and characters everything looks dated. maybe i am too spoiled by Guild Wars and Everquest 2 kind of graphics but can't seem to feel the part of the world. So i was hoping maybe there will be a graphic update in future.

Originally posted by Getalife I've been playing Guild Wars for months too and really don't see much of a difference. For a 4 year old game the graphics in Ryzom are pretty darn good.
What resolution are you using?

Anything easy ain''t worth a damn. |
I think the graphics for being over 4 years old are still top notch for a MMO and non MMO's. I think the UI could use some sort of a face lift; it's so limited |

Limited ? You can move everything around to where you want it to be, you can chose to display/hide windows, you can assign keys to them, you can resize more than half the windows and chose their transparency... If you say that drag/drop freedom is limited, you probably haven't played AoC which required to download or modify some files just to be able to move some bars around. And AoC's graphics didn't impress me. What good is it to have next gen graphics if you can't do a 48 vs 48 siege battle in an empty (no mobs) instanced zone without lagging to hell ? I chose playability over pseudo "next-gen" graphics anytime. In Ryzom, you can have battles of 200 vs 200 + NPCs and mobs in a non-instanced zone with full graphic effectss turned on with no or barely any lag at all. And Ryzom is 4 years old... I consider that impressive. |

I like the graphics a lot, simply because they represent a comic style I love (franco-belique), but I´d rather see the chars. lips move, or some whee bit of Anti Aliasing, some nice DX10 features or alt least DX9 used to its fullest.
Hey, I´m just dreaming here, a "facelift" for Ryzom would be nice in my op | |
