MMORPG.com EVE Online Correspondent Anthony Thurston writes this article giving us an overview of what we can expect to see coming to CCP`s EVE Online in the near future.

EVE Online has recently seen its newest expansion, Empyrean Age, updated with the 1.1 patch. CCP, developers of EVE Online, have labeled it the "Power to the people" patch. This is due to the fact that almost all of the fixes and tweaks that were added in the 1.1 patch were based on player suggestions. The 1.1 patch notes are practically a novel, with hundreds of user interface tweaks, bug fixes and little things that players suggested CCP take a look at. Not surprisingly, there was little content added in the 1.1 patch, though the content that was added is way over due. Over seventy new rookie missions, as well as a hundred normal missions were added to the game. To anyone who plays EVE, this is a big deal; for example, while playing a few nights back I did the "Save the Damsel" mission eight times... in a three hour period. Needless to say, more missions for EVE is a welcome change in my book.

Speaking of new missions, the next update players in New Eden can expect is Empyrean Age 1.2. The 1.2 patch is all about content, according to Arend Stuhrmann, the associate producer of EVE. In 1.2 we can expect even more missions, even more than were added in 1.1, meaning mission runners might actually have something to do!

I think ambulation will be a stealth patch, on Christmas day this year as a thankyou to it's devoted players.

Don't know if you can run it?

(Translation:  Oh, I hope, I hope, I hope...muttered from a very excited gamer that has been anxiously awaiting ambulation since the first mention of it.)

THE ABOVE POST IS MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION. Duh.
Now Playing: WoW, EQ2, EVE. Presently in closed beta for two upcoming MMOs, really looking forward to The Agency, Runes of Magic, Aion and TCoS releases. Still debating a return to Vanguard. I also play FPS games, such as Unreal 3 and Painkiller, and some single player games like Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. I'm addicted.

I do hope so, a patch like this will mean a huge client patch as well as many hours for the update.

A christmas present would be lovley.

Diplomacy - The art of saying ''Nice Doggy'' while you find a big enough stick to hit it

Have to say i left EvE at teh beginnng of the year just short of finally obtaining my BS due to the grind of repeating the same missions day in and day out

I have to say the new patches and stuff is giving me an incentive to splash the cash and try it again (assuming those avatars are still there...)

although CCP and most players seem to have almost completely given up on the lore of this game - ambulation makes no sense

when i first started playing a couple years ago a pod pilot was special because once you got hooked up into your nutrient filled pod - that was it - no gonig back - once a pod pilot always a pod pilot

oh well, good luck but that is definitely no incentive for me to return

Earliest you will see the ambulation is next spring.  CCP has continually hinted it is not ready yet.  We just won't see it this year.  It is really more fluff than substance, most of us are more interested in the substance anyways.

"ambulation" LOL

Entire games have been born and died in the time it's taken Iceland's Deep Thought to figure out how to make avatars walk around.
