"In EVE, no one gives a damn about a fair fight." - chafin

Due to the way Blizzard has structured WOW, I can't see how anyone who buys gold gains any real advantage over those who don't.  Not a valid complaint in this game, though it can be a problem for others.  Also, Blizzard seems to do far more to combat gold selling than most companies, including sueing people to try and stop it.

PVE-->PVP transfer is sort of a BS move, but in the end, its not like WOW really has a PVP server a long the lines of a more hardcore, looting game, so whats the harm really?  Not much, if people want to join their friends or bring over a character they leveled up, let them.

Not sure Blizzard's personality has changed much, when you sit on the top of the hill, and players continue to join your game there's little incentive to listen to alternate ideas or change the formula.

Comparing Blizzard to SOE is quite daft.  How can you compare patch 3.0.2 to a CU from SWG? That's utterly ridiculous. First off, SOE's CU's were horrible, not only making the game unplayable but leading up to the failed NGE, which Blizzard will never do in WoW.

Also, why do you need to hear a press-release on how Blizzard is doing.  That should be pretty apparent upon you logging into the game.  If any of the major cities look barren at peak hours then you know theres a problem. And gold farmers, seriously, no body can really STOP gold farmers, not unless you have a sys admin monitoring all the IP's that come and go, then you have to worry about proxy's/masked IP's.  It's just not feeable.  Give Blizzard some damn credit.

Okay, the leveling. Leveling is supposed to be rather easy and not hardcore.  I remember before WoW came out, Khaz Modan stated that the game wouldn't be hardcore.  I'm surprised they even cater to the hardcore crowd when this has been stated over and over.

Seriously, I think you need to chill out and drink some water. Don't be so focused on how WoW is doing, that's really none of your business. You sound like you bought stocks into Blizzard or something.  You should be focused on having fun with your buds and enjoying the content.

Blizzcon over the weekend cost $100 to enter or $40 to watch online, are Blizzard getting too big or greedy?

I actually laughed at the whole 'pay per view' thing too.  I mean that is just insane...  but that convention just tells you how much people enjoy playing WOW.

A long time ago I had to explain to my wife why "WOW" was a reoccuring bill  LOL.. as if that wasn't enough.. try explaining to your wife how you want to spend $40 to watch a convention about a game. ( I didn't do the ppv though).

There were hundreds of people on the forums posting play-by-play of what they were watching on tv, so apparenly a good number of people did actually sign up for ppv.

insanity.  I"m waiting for the day when WOW come preinstalled in the back seat of cars.

As for the OP's points,  gold sellers:  much less than in the past and I haven't seen a botter in quite a while.  So it looks to me that they have done a very good job.

PvE to PvP,  while then never said never,  they repeatadly made it clear that this was very close to never.  I agree that the about face on this was very surprising and decieving.

Population,  as others have said, there were a couple of announcements this year.

Eventually WoW will max out (maybe it is now) and slowly start to decline.  That is normal,  no game will last forever.

how are they becoming a shooter? Far from a shooter...there is virtually no skill required. They just want more money, more money, more money. Thats what Blizztard is doing here...

Thats called bussniess, to make money you think that they are actually just gonna give stuff away for free? you been liveing under a rock or something?

Nothing is worse than SOE.

They altered their service without offering a refund for customers that no longer wanted the new service.  They're thieves and liars with the ethics and morals of the dirtiest used car salesman.

And Blizzard has said two things about their next MMO:

1) It will not be WoW 2.0

2) It will be 'next-generation'

If a company like Blizzard can pull off a pre-CU SWG sandbox-like game, I will be very, VERY happy.
