Age of Conan

I was wondering if anyone who has played Tempest of Set could give some feedback as to how the class plays.

I looked on aoc.wikia.com to get an idea of the spells they can cast. The site lists 5 uncategorized spells, 3 healing spells, 2 buffs, and 1 hostile spell. Some of these have varying ranks dependent upon level. Are these the only spells that a ToS gets or are there more that just haven't been listed yet. I would hope there was more than 1 hostile spell.  Maybe a link to another site that might have more information would be great too.

From reading some threads, some players say it may be a little slow at start, but picks up after that. I have read that about a few classes. Anyone have any comments that have made it to 30s, 40s, or perhaps beyond?

Thought i'd share my 2 cents, but please understand i'm only lvl 40 so i'm hardly the last word on these guys. I found this class to be more complex them most of the others - with a typical mage you just blaze away, throw down one cc maybe? then keep going. With typical healer you lvl very slowly (low dps), healing constantly. With this guys you kinda have to do both at the same time.

I know many classes can take multiple targets at the same time but it's the ToS' specialty. I did some grinding at 34 on 38 lvl mobs. I'd pull 2 at a time, cast my HOTs then my AOE spells. Frankly i hardly looked at the mobs - i just focused on my HP and made sure it didn't drop beyond 1/2. If i got an ADD i can root or mez (7 sec at this lvl) and book it. I've soloed 90% of the time and rarely had a problem once i learned the correct technique of Healing and AOEing. It's a beautiful thing to see 5 people attacking you gettng wasted as i simply keep applying heals to myself (I can take 5 my lvl, but i've seen some crazy ass vids showing 13 chain kills!!)

In groups i wait till tank has agro, hit my AOE spells then sit back and heal. My damage reduces mana for my heal spells. I don't know who "the Best" healer in the game is (everyone seems to say PoM) but i'll hold my own with anyone, esp if they're not spected in the priest line!

One thing you will hear is the few dd spells we have to spam but this is as it SHOULD be! FC in their wisdom made it so the best AOE spell (at this point anyway) Storm Field last 14 seconds so i don't need to worry about damage and i can concentrate on everyones HP! As 5 mobs are getting hit, i'm just staring at the group, hitting HOTS or insta heals as needed. If it looks like we got it well in hand, then i start going to down with everything i have.

i've got a lvl 34 pest myself.  And I'll back every word of what that guy just said.  I've played 10 of the 12 classes in AoC, and a ton of other mmos, and ToS seems to be the most versatile class I've ever played.

When soloing, I tend to use my nukes and that AoE spells he mentioned 'Storm Field' (you get this at lvl 30), which is quite the sick spell.  It's not your typical one shot AoE.  It's AoE and DoT at the same time.  And like he said... it lasts 14 secs.

When grouping,  I basically allow the tanks to rush in, pop my two group regens.  Then run in and cast "storm field on the mob."  At this point I can (sorta) take a breather cuz I'm dealing massive damage to any enemy near me and healing everybody in the group all at the same time.  So have time to thing about how it's going to play out before I make my next move, and it's not like I'm standing around doing nothing.

The link you listed I had checked out earlier tonight, and it does a TERRIBLE job of citing ToS spells.  At lvl 34 I have 2 bolts, 2 group regen heals, a one-shot massive heal (with a wicked recharge), I can root or stun.  And if I go polearm, can get menacing in melee as needed.

As a ToS, when grouping, you'll never be the hero of the group.  No you're the orchestrator.  You're the maestro.

I spent about 6-7 hours grouping against elites and the only time our fights went bad was when I started taking significant damage. 

A final thing to say is this:  It you want a toon that can fight decently with weapons, can also rain lightning on his foes, specializes iin roots and sutns or just pop an AOE,, and nuke 'em until there's nothing left

ToS is a very powerful and good class IMHO. My ToS alt is only lvl50 so far, but I'm already enjoying it much more than my Demonologist which is lvl80. It nukes almost as hard as a Demo, gets heals, and gets invited to parties (cuz, I'm a priest after all).

AoE nukes, single target nuke, CC, heals, it's all there... ToS rawks :)

ToS is more like a mage then a priest. It is the best dps priest but BS's can hit hard with the right feats and gears though. And yes it has only 1 hostile spell but you can add more or you can improve the one with your feats which is better for PvP but sucks at PvE.

I'm noob in AoC, and I saw a video from ToS and he just throw lightnings and heals.

I hope that ToS isn't just spam two skils (because I like this class too much), but I got very concerned.
